Spent 9.00 today stocking up on frozen veg as need more veggie meals to help me lose weight. My poor arthy knees have been telling me for ages I am giving them too much weight to carry but I got a shock when
I got on boots scales and find that I am 3 stone over. Too much comfort eating over the last couple of years. I have apples, oranges and pears left over from last week and loads of strawberry and raspberrys in the garden, so only bought grapes today. So no excuse is there? I have given away my stash of cake and biscuits and sorted out my calorie counted recipes. Now to work out a meal plan.
Good luck with losing a little weight Meg.....my arthritic knees know just how yours feel!
I baked a small amount of the Artisan 5 minute bread last night.....thank goodness it was a small amount because I ate nearly ALL of it
, it is GORGEOUS!! Had a sort of oily texture (but in a good way....no fat in it) it was rather like a posh loaf I get from Sainsbobs for DD whose name I cannot recall.
Today I am doing HM cottage pie for tea but no idea about the rest of the day.
I would LIKE it to be another NSD and nothing needed for me, but DGS cannot get enough fruit at the moment, so I may need to get him some more "store-berries & neck-trines" :rotfl:0 -
I am hoping for a no spend day today but a friend is coming round to take me out for an hour so I'll have to be good.
Meg, on the weight loss I find I lose weight better by just cutting out bread from my diet and serving my meals on a smaller plate.
Although we are having fresh made pizza for dinner tonight.
Hope everyone has a zero or low spend day.

Monday - £3 on 8 pints of milk. Yesterday - NSD. Today - £2 on 2 packs of cherry tomatoes towards the feast for my son's Greek Day at school tomorrow. And £6 because I had no old sheet for the toga (damn that de-cluttering!) but I guess that doesn't count as a grocery spend.0

Hi all
I spent £5 today from GC budget. Still on target and £74.50 left in envelope to last until 24th.
Lunch today is salad with HG lettuce - will be HG tomatoes once they appear
Saves me a fortune on weekly shop and that's for only lettuce! I need to sow some more this weekend actually to ensure a consistent supply.
Next year i am going all out for good toms as we just don't get on growing wise!
This weekend we are going foraging and also to a PYO fruit farm - I hope to make jam from the harvest. Never made it before.
Have a great day all and just want to say i LOVE this thread, in fact OS in general - it really does make me feel content with life.
