Right..I haven't been around here for ages but desperately need to get my spending, and particularly my grocery spending, under control. :o

Can you put me down for
£350 for this month please.....I normally spend £400+, so it'll be hard going. This is for 2 adults, 3 children & will include all toiletries and packed lunches!

Wish me luck (think I'm going to need it.):rotfl:

oh, how I love a shiny new thread which only takes 5 minutes to read, so I'm all up to date...until tomorrow and it'll all go down hill! :rotfl:

Ok, I'm deffo in this month to the tune of £100 (will keep a note in siggy only).

My month started on the 22nd June and i'm proud that I resisted the normal payday splurge - only £3+ spent on essential fresh veges. Lots of NSDs for me...

Last month, I completely underestimated the cost of restocking my stock cupboard (tins/lentils/cat food etc). This month should be easier though I do need to replenish toilet roll supplies and daft things like foil/cling film...I hate shops like that where I spend money, yet come home with nothing that makes a meal! :rotfl:Still, I hear that Mr M's currently has vouchers for 6p off litre of petrol/diesel for £40 spend, so on Friday, I'm going to amalgamate a few shopping lists so I qualify....and then NOT go shopping again for a while...I promise, promise, promise :rotfl:

Working my way diligently through hm frozen meals, which I'm pretty sure will keep me going until the end of my challenge on 24th July. Then, please, surely, I'll finally be able to defrost the freezer and enjoy stocking it up again. I'm sure I'm not alone in getting excited about that ...oh how sad am I? :o

Big hugs to those going through tough times of any kind at the moment. Just been watching a program on Beeb3 about the troubles in Greece and have been very shocked at how bad things are getting there. My heart goes out to them all.

    Take care, folks.

Please can you put me down for £360 again for July.

A family emergency meant that I had to give up on June's budget really as it didn't allow for family coming to stay, extra persons for dinner etc and visits to hospital with fruit and other essential supplies.

My July starts on the 4th so I wont start counting till then.

Please put me down for £150 for July.

My month started on 25th June and runs until 24th July.

I have bought meat (chicken, gammon * 2 and mince) which combined with what's in the freezer is all I am hoping to buy this month bar a roasting chicken depending on budget.

There are 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 children under 6. Packed lunches for all every day and I grow my own where I can (currently saving a fortune on lettuce so pleased about that :) )

I did my first shop on Monday and after meat and shopping have £100 left (I put coppers into savings jar). So that's 4 weekly shops left plus mini top ups in between which is a fiver or such for fresh fruit. So I am aiming at no more than £20 on my Sunday shops and £5 on my Wednesday fruit top ups.

So far so good. Monday was chicken breasts (3) with mash, carrots, peas, corn on cob and gravy. I'm trying to get DS to eat something (was going to put more but at the mo he is saying "no" to all teas - he is 2, just) so corn on cob looked exciting. No avail. Anyway this was lovely (made with cranberry sauce) and DD ate it all. There was enough for DH to have for tea on Tues and we had freezer tea. Tonight is egg night (we have chickens) so it will be omlette using what needs to go from fridge for us adults and maybe for the kids I will do fishcakes using LO mash from Mon and tin of tuna? Will have to find a recipe. Nomally we all have the same meal however when I have LO's we all get what we are given to ensure it's best use of what we have.

Tomorrow is going to be a pinaculty (my version lol) so will prob need to cook that tonight. Friday is sorted too. Almost made it through the week and thoroughly loving it.

To the person (JJ?) who loves foraging and wandering down the self sufficient path - that is fantastic - exactly what we are hoping to achieve. I was waiting until I am DF to "live the dream" when we aim to move to the country and so on however there are so many things i could be doing now. Fabulous! Thank you and keep the pics coming pls :)
