  • Oh thanks rising- I work on a good deal being 10p per wash which are very few and far between these days so this is near enough :D

You're welcome :) TBH didn't pay too much attention to it (big white bottle if that helps:o) as still got loads left & didn't want to be tempted to buy it :rotfl:
I know you can freeze wine in an ice cube tray but i have a frost free freezer that 'eats' normal ice cubes over time- will me freezer still eat my wine cubes?

That happens to mine! Always tried to figure out why I put in full cubes & they come out teeny little lumps .....
Freeze them in trays and then pop them out and put them in bags :)

    :T Thanks Tiger :D

Spent £37.11 at Tesco yesterday and 6.16 at the local greengrocers
That's a full weeks shop which I am THRILLED at (usually a weeks shop is at least£120 plus some topping up in the week!), but I can see now that my lower target is probably not achievable. I am not going to let it get me down, there's always next month! :money:

Spent the best part of £40 today at T, which is everything for the week, plus a Christmas present which I need to take off the total, and some stocking of things to be used in the next month or so - 5kg of granulated sugar £3.99 instead of £4.51 in A, 1kg icing sugar, and also some pains au chocolats and croissants, to try before next month.

Takes the total for this month up to almost £60, and have food to last until at least the 21st. I don't think that's too bad.

Need to sort out the meal plan for this week. Well, for Thurs, as all the other days sorted!
    Sunday - boiled ham
Monday - hm pizza, two of dd's friends over
Tues and Weds - just me, so anything
Thurs - ?! Possibly sausage casserole if the weather is still rubbish, as lots of saus in freezer.
Friday - fish and chips, as it's the last day of the school year and we need a treat! (Less than £5 does the three of us)
Sat and Sun - no idea yet.

    Night all

Morning everyone. Keza - not sure what happened there, sorry. Just reporting in a tiny spend from yesterday - £2.30 on milk and eggs. We both seriously fancied some of the millie's cookies from the front page of this thread and I had no eggs in - we were going to run out of milk anyway so I popped to the corner shop and got some. At least I don't THINK I'll need to get anything today.

Yesterday was a bit weird food-wise so today it'll be back on the mealplan with the minced beef & onion pie I meant to do. I think we'll have it with mash and some extra gravy as I feel the need for comfort food.

Today - there's more cleaning planned, plus all my ironing and whatnot. I have a feeling it's going to be a very busy day today. I've got to write my shopping list too! Hopefully it'll be a small one!

    K xx

Enjoy the raft race, Jedi. Sounds fun!

    Well good morning peeps!

A busy day here for me. Going to do a big tumbledown pot of mince bulked out with grated carrots, lentils, tomatoes, stock, etc. will use as the backbone of a few meals this week for the tum and the freezer.

I have a lot of curried dal to use up (why do I always make too much!) so will have this for my own dinner at 12.

I only got round to filtering he elderflower champagne last night. It needs bottling today. Pronto.
I was worrying about nothing. It is definitely alcoholic already just judging by the smell alone. It is divine. It is definitely bubbling too as when I was pouring it into the filter, it was fizzy at the sides.

I sterilised glass bottles but am worried about it continuing to ferment as it is still very sweet. I am therefore using pop bottles instead. Very very happy with the attempt this time:j

Jam tarts are on the must do list for today as I simply must get this gone wrong jam used up!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sick of seeing it now, taunting me for my failure! :o

I still need to make a savoury contribution for a do this evening!

    Anyhow, must dash.

    Have a fab day, peeps!

    JJ :)

    Spent...£71 at morrisons yesterday! :(

I did however, but enough food to most likely last us 3 weeks, the freezer is full and the stock cupboard is back up and running. I let it run bare last week due going over budget and not physically having the money to go shopping.

On a side note, my dog has a poorly tummy :( thought it would be better today then she went and ate OHs smartie cookies when we weren't looking!!
