You will find that, once you get into a routine, jobs are done more quickly also if the same jobs are done regularly they become less onerous. Another advantage of having a routine is that things don't get forgotten - so you know that the lightswitches get wiped every week because you are in the habit of it (- making a hash of this I think... yell if it's not making sense).

So when I 'do a room' I start just inside the door and work my way round. And I do the same every time. One thing I don't always attack routinely though is windows - they don't need to be done every week so I will do, say, all upstairs in one go - as I have the gear with me.

I also keep a bathroom cleaning sponge IN the bathroom, along with cleaning stuff - so I can do a quick S&S in there because the stuff's there. I keep a separate cloth for loo wiping ( a bit of old towel which goes into a HOT wash).

As I read your post I know in my heart that you're right but I hate routines. I think I must be rebelling against them, my DD has ASD and routines are very important to her, and I am the opposite. I don't want more routine ~ part of me longs for chaos. But I hate housework too and these could make it go away quicker.....

Don't worry they take me more than 15 mins too - I was just following Dusty's lead from last week as I got in late Sunday night and hadn't sorted the list for Monday out properly - just treat it as a level one and don't worry too much about the wording.

Thanks, that makes me feel better.

Im still flying, just off list as not enough hours in the day to post on here anymore like I used to. But the house is tidy and clean bar the rod and even that's a huge improvement on what it was before. Paperwork is all up to date bar the shredding, but I've got a very helpful 13 year old babysitter that loves shredding whilst Bs alseep. I do get a huge chunk done on a Sunday though as I usually get my friends daughter to watch B whilst I blast through the house.

Hope everyone's well as not read back and not been on for months xx

    Morning All

Well by the time I'd picked my car up, been over to my mate's, sorted some insurance and other bits out I didn't do a lot else last night. I'm still shattered this morning - I might go back to bed yet! Just been outside to put the washing on the line but it feels like it might rain so I think I'm going to just stick it in the TD as it's been waiting since yesterday afternoon. Not sure what's happening today, my mum is going over to my G&G's so I might go over with her as we haven't been over this holiday. I feel as if I should still have a week off to do stuff as DH was off Mon and Tues which is unusual and I've now only got today and tomorrow as we're out all day Saturday and Sunday will be getting stuff ready for Monday and that. Beavers tonight so I need to make sure everything's sorted for that and I've got some paperwork to catch up with at some point. I definitely need another week's holiday!

Anyway, I'm going to start by putting the washing in the TD, reloading the WM and putting the scalextric away before the kids get up so I can hoover the LR.

Piggers - lots of healthy baby vibes coming your way.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

Morning all, feeling alot better this morning so it's back to it. :D

Me and DS3 have the dentist this morning and then i need to go on a raffle hunt again. DD nearly ready for school so i'll get the hot water on for me, i'll grab a bath once OH is up (he can sort the boys).

More rain here today so looks like the TD will be on and maybe even the fire again..
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Well, we are supposed to be having a day out but the forecast is bad so just waiting to hear if it's cancelled. Not sure I'm bothered tbh. But I'm not taking the tots to playcentre at half term, it will be awful...

Will clean inside of shower while I'm in there, and might pull the bottom out of the plug for a scrub.

Trying to think what see we can do. Although a day at home wouldn't hurt. We are spending tomorrow afternoon at my aunties, with all the children, and on Saturday my friends dd is coming for the day and we are going to the nursery funfair...

I suppose I could continue my challenges?
