Canada is somewhere I would love to visit actually, I've got quite a lot of family over there."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Thanks Toto!
Painful wait though lolIsn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
I HATE winter-always have, always will.
I love it here because this is where I have 'my family' my husband and kids. We have a wonderful, happy life and I love the UK.
I love the fact that Europe is on the doorstep and we can see such diverse cultures with just a short flight. I love the people, I love the country side, I love the TV (lol) I love the sense of humour, I love the FOOD! (oh dear...)
IARMW,
I'm sure you'll get the job!!!!

Are Canadian winters very cold Bunny - I didn't realise Canada had such extremes of temperature.....I'm useless aren't I??
Another probably silly question - are most people bilingual? Or is it just some areas that are French speaking?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
yes, winter is bitterly cold (-40!) and summer goes the other direction. (This is Toronto where I am from) and the humidity is awful. You have to learn French in school but that doesn't mean that we're bilingual, lol. My French isn't bad though...
Canada is also extremly culturally diverse-most people seem to have this vision of a very 'white' country (sorry if that sounds offensive, it's what I have found most people perceptions to be) but it isn't at all. In fact, my mother who is a teacher has to have 36 seperate language interpretors for Parents evening. I grew up like this and I never noticed it but I know that most people think everyone is Canadian-and they're not! No one actually says they are Canadian usually, they sat Iruish Canadian, French Candian, Italian Canadian etc. It's a bit strange.
I think moving to another country makes you realise that the world is very different where ever you live but that happiness does not depend what country your in but rather what you make of your life-you have to find happiness where you are. No matter where you live you will still have to work, cook, clean etc. To me, my quality of life does not depend on my size of house or car I drive....

Bunny that was so profound!
I agree I just want to see more of our world and take in new cultures and experiences!Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Bunny, thanks for taking the time to answer my silly questions so fully, that was really nice!
I feel like I've learned something today!I didn't realise it was such a diverse country.
That's one thing that amazes me when I see people on tv wanting to move to other countries because they're not happy with their lives in the UK - they often don't take into account that they will still have stresses and strains to cope with when they move abroad, and in some respects it will be MORE stressful, because often you are having to deal with things in a language you're not fluent in etc. But I still think they're brave lol!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
