Court summons for speeding - advice please

If, as I suggested in my earlier post your OH attends court in person then he can surrender his licence (it is certain to be endorsed), he could explain the situation and ask that the endorsement be applied there and then. Most court endorsements are handwritten in any event and few use a court number stamp now any way. If he was prepared to wait for a short while I see no reason why he could leave the court with the licence endorsed. It is a common misapprehension that licences have to be returned to the DVLA to be endorsed. They don't. The court simply notify them of any endorsement.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Just to back up HO87, my local court kept my son's licence after he got his 5 points for 99 on a dual carriageway. They endorsed and posted it the next day and we had it back 2 days after the appearance.

I'm struggling to see how much extra inconvience the speed awareness course would of been, considering he is now going to need to take time out to attend court?

    Odd....

Coinxop - whats even more odd is when we made the decision the crystal ball we consulted said that all would be well and we wouldn't have to attend court...stange I know.

Avoid court appearances by driving at, or below, whatever the speed limit is for the road you are on.

This hadn't occurred to me earlier but oh has to submit his license to the courts, hearing is 03/07 and we have a driving holiday booked to france on the 13/07. Oh needs to do all the driving. Is he likely to be able to do this still?

No, I'd say your other half is incapable of driving in a foreign country considering his incompetence in the UK.

    Take a coach instead.

Most helpful. No doubt you also make regular appearances on Debt-Free Wannabe saying Avoid debt- never borrow money?

Here we take Martin's dictum of Help- not Judgment- somewhat more seriously.

Thank you so much for your contribution, I'm sure this advice will be invaluable to the OP.

I'll bet you're one of those people who drive in the middle lane of the motorway at 65mph in your Rover 416, wearing your stringback driving gloves, hat and pipe, while normal people whizz by on both sides glaring at you while you stare self-righteously straight ahead.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

You shouldn't advise undertaking as being acceptable.
