Since my divorce in 2007 I still cannot break the habit of buying for 2-4 people. Consequently I have tinned goods, coffee jars and toilet rolls dating back several years. The mountain is slowly diminishing - it would go down quicker if I could avoid the supermarkets - I can bake my own bread but need to buy meat and milk.
Still, I console myself with the thought that it is retail therapy and will hopefully cease if ever I get into another relationship - at least I am not wasting all my spare money.:rotfl:
I forgot to mention that I could stock a small shop with booze - you're a long time dead!
Also I have two large freezers and one fridge/freezer - all crammed with frozen food.

Approved Food order came yesterday so the pile got bigger! Putting shelving in our spare room to house it all. Hubby not impressed lol.
    Looking for a fresh start
  • I definitely stockpile although I could do with more space. The kitchen cupboards are full to overflowing and have overflowed in to the dresser in the living room. I have two freezers which are chock a block, although I think I will have to have a month of not buying anything as they both need defrosting. How am I going to cope with the withdrawal symptoms :)
I frequently go into Tesco's and Sainsbury's but only for their reduced section as I think they are overpriced usually.

I use this website so that I can inventory the freezers and cupboards

My friend has a small business so when ever he goes to Makro I give him a shopping list!

It has amazing deals I wont need loo rolls or cleaning products for months!! I stock pile on everything and keep most of it in the loft till I need it :)

I don't find makro that good unles sthings are on offer, there normal prices are easily beaten by supermarket deals, saying that there big packets of chicken breasts are a good price, and they do decent priced fruit and veg. I also buy my laundry liquid and dishwasher tablets from there when they go half price/bogof.

Latest edition to my stock pile was 6 tins of rice pudding and 4 tins of tinned oranges, all value so nice and cheap.

I was going to ask, "Do you use coupons??"
I call my stockpile/stash "My Corner Shop" and quite a bit of it has either been free/nearly free or even paid to take the stuff away!! That's what couponing can do.
I've got way too much at the moment and still coupon, it's addictive, though only really select the major offers now. The more I stash, the more I give away also - I like to share. lol
Saves Son and girlfriend pennies also.

Agree fully with VfM4meplse - once you have your own "Corner Shop", weekly shopping becomes much, much cheaper - just keep topping up with those bargains/whoopsies.

We call ours the shop as well. My 6 year old likes it when I finish up a bottle of washing up liquid/fabric cond etc etc as he says, don't worry mummy I will just pop to the shop and get one for you! :rotfl:
  • Define stock pile! My attic, garage, spare room and kitchen are all overflowing. The recent Asda bargains have now claimed under the stairs in 6 huge storage boxes. I need help

We have actually written out a list of everything in the freezer and kitchen cupboards. We also have a stash of "bargains" under the stairs! Mainly pasta sauce and beans lol. Aim to meal plan now, and try and cut some costs - need to start eating into the overdraft :-(
