You seem to be getting good at the semantics and the personal part, at least I know how to treat your posts in future.chewmylegoff wrote: »Well we can argue about semantics or we can address that point
Yes I do and I have the same issue with the utility company frothers who see wholesale gas prices drop and expect the domestic gas bill accordingly. The price relationship doesn't work that way and I've tried to put forward the reasons why! regarding oil barrel prices but it seems you prefer to ignore them and defend Graham's honour instead.chewmylegoff wrote: »So, do you take issue with the suggestion that $2 on or off the price of crude has historically equated to a corresponding movement of 1p at the pump?
No of course not, I never did. I only question the direct relationship of $2 vs 1p.chewmylegoff wrote: »Are you saying the link is wrong?0 -

So the $2 / 1p is wrong, but the link which talks about $2 / 1p isn't wrong. Excellent. Have a good night.0 -
We'll see in a few weeks if the pump price is 10p to 15p lower.chewmylegoff wrote: »So the $2 / 1p is wrong, but the link which talks about $2 / 1p isn't wrong. Excellent. Have a good night.
Happy trolling in your fantasy life until then.0 -

Supermarkets to cut 3p from a litre, in force from tommorow due to the fall in oil prices.

I see that the AA are reporting that UK petrol prices have fallen by more than 4p per litre for the second month running (since mid-May, average UK petrol prices have fallen 4.63p a litre, from 138.40p to 133.77p).
....just in time for the 3p increase in fuel duty due on the 1st August.

I'm sure that you did because that's quite a long post trying to explain and justify your strange behaviour.
So let me let you try again.
The "variable" part of the pump price is the only real part that can be affected by the price of a barrel of oil, did you not think that the exchange rate or even the quality of the oil and where it's from may have an impact on the pump price. You did know that there are different types of crude and have different prices, probably related to quality I imagine. So less petrol would be produced for each barrel, right?
That wouldn't impact pump prices, or would it not?
You appear to be the only one NOT listening.
You are correct in what you say - HOWEVER, the figures quoted already took this into account - and was backed up by stats from a far more reliable source than you.
You appear to be arguing something no-body disputes - yet wont make comment on the actual figures quoted.
Get out while you can.0 -
Must be time for the price to go up then!Graham_Devon wrote: »Oil at 12 month low0 -

Well the AA are going to make a big thing about the profiteering going on apparently.
They stated this morning on the radio, there is simply no excuse now, the prices are above what they should now be, even allowing for the time lag and the dollar.0 -
My tesco pump price dropped 3p overnight.0
