Oil at 12 month low
Comments

I have only ever been cold called twice by the firm that supplies my domestic central heating oil. The first time it happened a friend said to me, 'Hold on, don't buy. They know there's a price drop coming.'
As it happens, I didn't need any oil, so I did, indeed, hold on and a couple of months later the price dropped quite considerably.
I was called again about six weeks ago.
I'm not entirely surprised that oil companies can predict their own industry's ups and downs (!) but I am bothered that highly paid consumer journalists can't keep us better forewarned.0 -

are journalists highly paid? i thought they were paid absolute peanuts (notwithstanding BBC lead correspondents salaries...)
i am in the same building a well known red top, and going on what their staff wear to work they aren't making megabucks.0 -
For chuckles...Petrol prices have fallen by over 4p for the second month running data showed today, with the average litre of unleaded falling from 138.40p in mid-May to 133.77p.
The average unleaded pump price has now fallen 8.71p a litre since it hit the 142.48p record in mid-April, the AA found - a drop of 6.11 per cent.
But despite the seemingly good news for motorists in its Fuel Price Report, the motoring organisation said that prices are still ‘short of where it should be'.
Nearing 10-15p.
