Haven't posted for a few days.
I had food poisoning at the weekend from some fish I've had in the top shelf of the freeezer for about 18 months. Bleurghhhhh!! As I was still too green to cook on Saturday, Hubby took the kids for a Dominos Pizza and blew £21

Mk wotsit, sorry to hear about the food poisoning too, really horrible! Hope you feel better now.
Thanks for the extra Lidl info, and the link to their website FFM - I'm looking forward to it!

Spent £3 on 9 cans of soup in poundland yesterday.
Very slightly over budget but still to do sons birthday dinner, buy his cake and buy more dog food too.
Looks like I am getting into the annoying habit of aiming for £200 and ending up £50 over."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Hope you're feeling better now, MK!
Another couple of NSDs for me and living off what's in store at the moment. Only thing needed between now and 29th looks to be toilet rolls (down to last 2), milk and bread, unless I try making rolls from plain flour. I'm stretching that last tenner as I am adamant not to go over the £100 as it's a saving of £20 that's left in the bankDef count me in for March please
March target will be £100I reserve the right not to spend.

Oh I am struggling, but I have bought quite a few bogofs this month. DH said he will make dinner on Sunday, I have told him he is NOT allowed to buy anything for it as we have plenty in. He has decided to make burgers out of a whole pack of mince that's in the freezer:mad: . I have asked that if he must make burgers could he pad them out with breadcrumbs and make them thinner, that way we could get two days worth.
Count me in for March, Im going to aim for £250 again. I know it's not a decrease, but I'm not sure if I'm going to make it within budget this month, if I do it'll be tight.Grippy is my middle name!0 -
I'm soooo pleased with myself. :j
I really thought i'd struggle and starve this month, but i can honestly say i've eaten as much as ever and better than ever.
Its always been a standing joke that my cooking is awful but something strange has happened... i CAN cook:rolleyes: and cook well on a tight budget.
I'm going to come in under my £68 this month for 2 adults. I used to spend that each week, if not more:eek:

I am over my budget this month and I think with the few bits I need between now and end of the month I will be over by about £40  I think had I not done this GC then I would have been over by at least £100 so have saved in the long run.
I am aiming at £250 for March GC so hopefully I can do better than this month.
I have already planned the entire months food and done a shopping list of all the items that can keep in the cupboard or freezer so that I will only need the perishable items each week. Not done my shopping this way before so fingers crossed it goes to plan!
I am also going to try Lidls for the first time for fruit and veg as there is one only 5mins from me.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

I thought this month would have been harder than last because I had so much Xmas food left over in the freezer/cupboards in January.
But with just 8 days left to go i'm doing really well with £32.94 of my £230 budget left.
Freezer and cupboards are relatively full, no nappies, wipes or cleaning stuff needed so i'm quietly confident i'll come in on budget or very slightly under. (famous last words)
I'm only going to reduce next months budget by £5 just to see if I can do it.
Good luck to everyone whose Feb challenge is still running. How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0 -
HI,
Could I also sign for March please? After many calculations and lots of podering I shall aim for £155.- this is for one adult, one 3 year old (who eats 7 meals per week at the nursery), 2 dogs and 4 guinea pigs. Ok I admit I will cheat and get a big bag of dog food in Feb.
Thanks,

Unbelievably I am still on track with my spending. Haven't spent on groceries since last week at Aldi. I have since spent £11 on organic veggies and £10 on milk and bread order.
We have a builder and 2 sons and a friend all working here at present so I have had to spend on tea and biscuits and sugar but have taken the money out of my 'extension' fund.
DH, I get a veg box for 2-4 people and there are usually six adults here now so I also buy some at Aldi too. We still have a few carrots and some spinach in the garden and my neighbour has too many onions so we have had some from him too.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
