£27.07 for me this week, split between Asda and Lidl.
Freezer topped up, and I've dug some bits of fruit out of it (stewed apples, rasberries and blueberries) to make some pies and crumbles. I need to make pastry for them tomorrow (already have crumble mix).
Hot puddings just seem like such a good idea in this horrible weather. I shall be liberating some of my custard stockpile too I think.0 -
Evening everyone.
NSD for us for a couple of days now although I will have to pop to the shops either on my way to collect OH from work tonight or tomorrow as we need milk and cat food.
Hoping to buy a large pack of cat food that should last til end of next weekcats seem to be eating anything available at the moment. Must be the cold weather.
Glad to see everyone is doing well in their challenge.:T
Will update signature when i've been to the shops'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -
I'm up to £299.59 now so it's getting close...still hoping I can come in under budget although it's DS1's birthday next week.
Bails - When I go to Lidl I always stock up on cereals, peppermint tea, chorizo and/or salami, ketchup, flour, choc biscuits, crisps, tins of tomatoes, kidney beans, tissues, painkillers, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets and salt, and binbags. The binbags, and freezer bags too are I think especially good value - much better quality than the usual supermarket cheap ones.
I steer clear of any sauces after bad experiences with mayonnaise, horseradish sauce and I think tartar sauce - a friend who has lived in Germany told me that that is how these things always taste in Germany eg I think the mayonnaise was quite mustardy. I didn't like them as they just didn't taste right to me.
I didn't know they give food away that's about to be binned - I've never seen it but perhaps I haven't been at the end of the day which is presumably when they do it?0 -
I have the same problem just now, I must have been a cat in a past life :rotfl:
:rotfl:
LOL I must admit I sometimes have that problem, must be due to TOTM.
Mind you, OH has this problem more than me, think his stomach is like a bottomless pit sometimes
OH has been feeding them tuna cause we ran out of cat meat last night. They must think all their birthdays have come at once :rotfl: .
One of the cats wont touch cat biscuits and the other cant get enough of them.'Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle'0 -

Bails, have you checked out their website for their offers before you go? http://www.lidl.co.uk/uk/home.nsf/pages/i.home
I agree with Mrs McC the bread flour is brilliant, we've made lovely pizza bases and muffins for our weekend lunches. I'm still using up some breadmix that I had from before the GC so can't comment on the loaves yet.

Well the TOTM has alot to answer for. My DDs came to asda with me last weekend and Eldest DD and myself were both 'due TOTM' and my feb budget is shot to shreds!!!!! The chocolate and cream cakes went down well though!!!:oGE 36 *MFD may 2043
