Are you Liverpool, Knowsley or Lancs??? I must say I wish I'd known about Freecycle a few years ago....we were getting rid of a three piece suite from OH auntie which we had also had for a year or two...but was in perfectly good knick...we were getting another second hand off OH mum and dad.....I hate seeing things go to waste when they can do somebody

Hiya - I'm in Lancashire. Yes, they wanted £15 to take the divan bed base to the tip - I just wasn't prepared to pay that when I pay the Council over £90 a month council tax and only get the bins emptied once a fortnight - lovely (not) smelly rubbish hanging round for 2 weeks in the summer.... OK, I'll get off my soapbox now ;)

Freecycle is great - this couple were over the moon to get the divan base, and no doubt before too long I'll be able to get a few things off the site myself.

I have to ask, but are SunderlandBlackCat and Bamywhamy related, as you both become debt free on the same day :D
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:
  • :D I asked about that the other day - hers is days to go until her holiday.

I'm in Liverpool....are you already on the fortnightly collection then:rolleyes: ....that was on the news tonight....have to say...I mostly put my bin out once a fortnight anyway ....me and and oh don't create THAT much rubbish...but it's more because I'm either pressed for time...or can't be arsed..:D the number of times I have put my rubbish bin out on time and NOT overfilled...and they've left mine behind unemptied after taking 'neighbours' overflowing bins, extra big bags and all sorts of other crap:mad:

I had to complain about stuff left in the entry a while back....the 'landlord' of another house had just dumped all sorts...cooker..fridge etc...making no arrangements for it to be collected....and later I got a snotty letter off the council about rubbish outside my back wall ...health hazard blah blah...basically serving me a notice.... ...and it wasn't even my RUBBISH!!...some other arsewhole had dumped it o/s my back wall! I replied to the notice as politely as can be expected...:o

Today my 2 children DS aged 13 and DD aged 10 went to the local village on their own armed with their pocket money. They returned 30 mins later with an African Violet potted plant for me and a large Dairy Milk (which no doubt they'll scoff themselves later) for Mothers Day.

I feel so touched I feel I could cry!
