Indeed I do say it as it is.
If you don't like it block me.

A quick Google search for Virgin travel insurance showed me cash limits of £200 to £500 depending on the level of cover.

    Mrjam back to you.

    I don't understand why you're quoting Travel Insurance ?

Do you mean for the OP to claim back the cost of the holiday ? They haven't lost any money have they, just the amount for the holiday they aren't going on now ? They obviously won't be entitled to any of that back anyway now.

seems clear to me - if the OP's travel insurance only covered cash to 500 max (or maybe only 300) then how idiotic is it to be intending to walk around with 1400 quid in their pocket

Why are you telling us now, and not 2 days before you were meant to leave? It's a bit late to be doing anything about it.

And I'd personally much rather spend 1/2 weeks in the Canary Islands with little money than just cancel the whole thing and waste £1200. There is no way you need £1400 to have a good time.

I had a issue with 3 and a card payment. after 3 refused to help lloyds took the hold off the payment as it had been said by 3 to have been declined but authorised by lloyds. i hope you get it sorted x

I think you have missed the point. OP tried to buy Euros from Sainsburys - something went wrong with the transaction and his money is locked until the authorisation earmarking comes off.
So he has no Euros and no £££ either apparently.
