Haha. This is a good one, they're actually paying you £2.50 to take it away.

I have also popped my receipt through the online price checker.

    Happy long weekend everyone xx

My experience of this deal was even better.

I bought the tesco finest ciano white, chicken kievs, chunky chips and GU white chocolate brownie things.

    What I should have been charged was £10 - 20% = £8

I was charged full price of £18.50 ish minus 20% of £1.68

This led to much arguing with customer services, who tried to tell me that the meal deal was not on, didn't help that they had a huge poster up advertising it.

Anyway long story short they have refunded me what I thought was double the difference and given me back £13.60.

If was only when I got home that I realised that the actual over charge was £10.50 so I should have been refunded £21.

I will be continuing my discussion on the phone with customer services in the morning. Hope that makes sense.

Hi if all this was in the meal deal area the deal could be spanking as you would be getting paid £2.50 to take them away and if you got 6 you could get a further 5% off the wine that's another £2.10ish

6 of your meal deals possible £17.10 profit and lots of food & wine?

  • Is the Fiano the only wine we know that will give a JTD?

    6.99/5.00 = £1.99 JTD
If you're not scared, you're not paying attention

I think the 20% is coming off the full price of the individual items (wine not included) so best deal would be to buy the dearest items.

Thanks for that. I actually came to MSE today specifically to find out how the 20% off Finest deal was working.
there are some very clever people, just makes my head hurt when i try to work it out :p

Well my head is hurting trying to work out how I can buy (say) 4 Finest Meal deals, get another couple of bottles of wine to trigger the 5% discount and spend over £40 'cos I've got a conditional spend. Oh, and get some JTD on the wine.

It might take me a while.:)

Buy 3 and the four mini bottles of black tower. Also 2 of stuff like milk or bread you may need.

Not bad, but if you can trade the red or keep it for those last minute presents you should get a price check voucher back. Tricky though as at least you have been good a purchased a wine that you like, unless that compares too??????
    I will await your update.

Also I did say it would get moved ha ha.

I price checked my receipt just in case, wasnt expecting anything back and the wine came back unmatched, this was the wine i got TESCO FINEST NAVARRA GRENACHEROSE 75CL, it is a really lovely drinkable wine

    Can i use a £5 off £40
if the subtotal is over £40 before multi buy?

    i.e.
    2 finest meal deals - £33.98
    4x(£1.99) small wines - £7.96
    Sub Total = 41.96
    - £5 off £40
    -£13.98 meal deal
    -£4 20% off Finest
    -£1.10 5% off wine

    Total to pay £17.86

    JTD should give £6.94

    making it £10.92
