* need some urgent advice on being suspended for " POTENTIAL GROSS MISCONDUCT

You should be asking your Union these questions rather than posting on here, they are in the best place to advise you.
For what its worth, Civil Servants have been sacked for posting inappropriate comments on Facebook.0 -
Nobody can really say - we don't know the comment, we don't know the context, we don't know the policy and we don't know the history of the company and what they usually do in situations like this.
However, if you are found to have breached the policy and committed 'gross misconduct' then yes - a dismissal usually follows. Unless you can argue/grovel yourself out of it.
For info - the only work related thing I ever post on facebook is how I love my job and how brilliant it is working there. And how fab my colleagues are.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

I cant say were i live on here its not near leeds
Unless you changed job recently(1year), it just took me <1 minute to find out who you work for and where.
Given the employer and previous comment on them, if they find out it's not just facebook you make negative comments you are in deep dodo
major groveling required
does your Mrs work at the same place?
Still getiing shares?
they have been in the news for sacking people for facebook use so take it seriously0 -
This issue should become a sticky with the appropriate advice before people start posting about their workplace, I get asked by my colleagues if I am on Facebook, my standard answer is "no colleagues on Facebook ever"
If they pull a face or moan tough, I use the Facebook to keep in touch with a few rellies overseas.
if I want to network professionally I use LinkedIn. Why on earth risk your job for the twaddle that is posted on Facebook.
Good luck Op, I would take screenshots and de-friend all colleagues or even better de-activate your account grovel like you never grovelled before and have a plan b up your sleeve if they decide to get rid.0 -
My daughter's boyfriend wrote some silly stuff about work on fb, and a work friend decided to grass on him. He never mentioned the company by name, but still got suspended for 4 weeks had a disciplinary meeting, wrapped over the knuckles and told not to do it again. He has learnt his lesson and has removed his fb page and will be more guarded in future.
Although I feel some sympathy for you, please try to think before you post stuff on fb. Anyway, I'm sure you will be fine.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0 -
You know people come on here looking for advice and support and some people are very judgemental. How does that help the OP?. Also who are you to judge? of course you people have never put a foot wrong at work have you?, or never got into any trouble.
It must be great to be so morally upstanding and the perfect person at home, at work and generally.0 -

Don't see much judgement.
Mainly just a genuine question of "why"?0 -

I'm not judging either (and I am far from perfect) but ultimately we are all responsible for our own actions, good or bad, so I suppose many are asking why, because you kind of know that you've done wrong, but want validation that you haven't. And we can't give that to the OP. I hope that makes sense.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0
