Non-expiring credit on PAYG?
Hello, Everyone,
Is there a mobile-phone pay-as-you-go deal, please, that doesn't wipe-out any unused credit after a set number of days, usu. 30?
I just want to put some money on it, use it very infrequently, and only top-up when the credit has been used.
For my very small family group I was on Vodafone's 'Family' deal whereby I pay £5 a month whereafter all calls between my phone and three others are 'free'. But some family-members preferred texting so calls are rare now and that £60 a year could, I expect, be put to more intelligent use. (Besides, we couldn't call anyone outside of the group without incurring extortionate charges.)
Thank you,
AF.

As long as you make a chargeable call or text most credit does not expire. I use o2 and make a call every 90 days or so lasting seconds costing around 10p or so. The expiry date then gets extended.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -
Usually it is 180 days, not 90.
PAYG sim with non expiring credit/back up sim wanted0 -
Really? (And flip! you was quick!)
I've trolled-round the mobly-pony shops and all said, with only minor variation, that I'd have to spend £10 a month.
I was given to understand that all PAYG credit would be wiped-out after 30 days, hence that general figure of £10 a month (which smacks of cartel, to me).
Thank you, 'HappyMJ' and 'grumbler': you've made this a happy AF with few grumbles. I'll go back to the shops and check again.

Credit lasts forever with Giffgaff, as long as you make one call/text in 6 months.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

And their was a good summary in the post #7 of one of the threads that I posted the links to above:
PAYG SIM card kept alive without regular top-up, only with some activity0 -

I think you may have misunderstood, with many of the networks, if you top up at least £10 the you get some free calls/texts/data which typically last 30 days. But the actual credit doesn't expire.0
