Just come back from my local T's where I was overcharged on Finish Quantum 30 Tablets - should be £5, scanned at £10. OOD SEL ended yesterday.

    Purchased 14 packets at £140

Refunded £140 and kept the lot! DTD given but authorisation from manager as the refund was over £20. Not heard of this policy before????

    Thank you

PS There's still a half price sign up in the store if anyone else wants to go in! PM me for details

Also bought some cheap Peppa Pig knickers for my LO at Rawten5ta11 Tesco on Saturday. They were high up and priced at £5, scanned at £2. About 6 or 7 packs left in all different sizes. On the back of the pack was AW11 if that helps anyone. Scanner is right at the far end of the womens wear near the staff door if you are looking for it!

checked in another Mr Ts today and they scanned at £5.

I've just returned from another sortie. 4 more leg joints of pork for free. This branch previously had the non special offer ones in a different place without a shelf label but has since moved them to the incorrect place. The fresh food manager tried to make out that it was just the large ones but the duty manager agreed with me (the barcodes were the same as the label) and I got DTD.

Also got 2 sets of headphones. JVC marshmallow silver ha-fr36-s. The SEL displayed half price offer for £9.97. The offer ended yesterday. They scanned at £19.99.
The CS guy tried to say that I should only get DTD on one of them because "that's all the system allowed him to do". Waited and spoke with the same duty manager who again agreed with me.
They had other colours on the same offer so it's worth a look.

Forgot to mention that whilst I was at CS, two other customers had been over charged - one on doritos large bag multibuy and the other on some kind of breakfast bar (Belvita or Kelloggs) yellow box - scanned at £2.40, SEL £1.19. Don't know what the Dorito offer was or how much he was overcharged. Sorry :)

i got told yesterday that tesco express' cant give DTD by the manager! but i wasnt sure whether to let him refund me (it was only 24p) and then ring CS or leave and get DTD and refund through CS?
I think he is trying to avoid giving you DTD. I have been given DTD in an express. They usually have a blue board behind the counter that states it & in my local there are labels attached to the surface in front of the tills that also state their policies. I think he is avoiding giving it & thinks you probably won't bother to contact CS for a 24p overcharge. I would email HO & let them know. It may result in a moneycard for your trouble & I don't think they like it when their staff lie to customers. HTH

I usually stand me ground when I have been overcharged and insist on DTD. But that is mostly as part of a big shop.

How do you get away with claiming DTD when you buy a really expensive item such a the phone - does CS not ask why you didn't raise the question at the till? Or ppicking up 4 pork leg joints and nothing else - surely CS will assume that you know you've been overcharged before you hand over you money at the check-out.

    Any pointers welcome! Thanks!
I usually chat to the SA or anyone around me & make it look as though I'm not paying attention. Then as you leave the store check the receipt & look puzzled/ horrified/ confused (just don't have a great big grin on your face) & head to customer services. Good Luck

I usually do any expensive dtd with the weekly shop. I have never been asked why I didn't notice the overcharge and I have been dtd-ing and r&r-ing for years. If I was I would simply say I thought I must have made a mistake when I looked at the price ticket so paid and then went to check.

When its a smaller dtd like joints of meat then I would get perhaps milk or bread with it but again just say if challenged I thought I had made a mistake and went to check after paying.

Even when a store has refused dtd they have never asked me why I didn't notice.

helloooo im new to the site and have been reading you dtd posts , think im going to go on the hunt for them tomorrow , might sound like a silly question but how do you know the item is going to scan through as more , do you just look for the items posted on here x thanks deanne x
Good Morning. Have a look at the yellow SEL labels & in very small writing you will find the date the offer expires. Sometimes the offer hasn't expired they just haven't bothered to change the label over with a new expiry date. If you find it goes through check out at offer price you can either pay for it & return it to CS a few days later for a refund or hunt through your bag & find you have forgotten your purse!!! Good luck:)

Old el paso mexican dinner kits of on offer for £2.

Only noticed on the bus home I was charged £3.22!!!!

Going back to get a few more this afternoon and get DTD. Will phone customer services about the one this morning.

The pack I got today was the quesildia (sp)

I should get a dtd of £2.44 so each pack, so should cost me about 80p each. Good bargain if you use them a lot.

Enchiladas also available but will check the price later x
