You've got a clear clash with a Sky router on channel 1. You want to be on anything other than ch 1 or 6. Try 11.Are you hitting 'Apply' after changing channels and then logging out and then back in to check that the channel has actually been changed?
If that doesn't work, a pair of Homeplugs is the best solution.
Linksy? Thats next door and she has always been there.
Cannot remember the net address to change it. Shall give o2 a bell.
p.s. I got a free laptop once (your signiture)I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0 -
No, not Linkys-that is on Ch 6. I'm referring to the SSID Sky 00353, which is on the same channel as you. O2 canot see the InSSIDer data, so they have no idea what channels your neighbours are running, or what the best channel might be
Your wireless reception is nothing to do with O2, it's your responsibility from router to your devices.
Your laptop was not free, you paid for it(probably well over the odds) with your monthly contract paymentsNo free lunch, and no free laptop

Ah I see. Thanks for the info. Shall give it a go when I get home.
And it was free. A little off topic, but just to prove a point. I had a Maxdata that broke after 18 months. Sent it back to them and 2 days later delared administration. After a lot of agro the company I bought it from kindly agreed to replace the laptop as it was unlikley I would get mine back. Pick one, and a month later maxdata sent mine back fixed out of the blue. Spoke to the company who said keep both.
So, I got a free laptop

Homeplugs use your mains wiring to send the Ethernet signal from your router round the house.
You plug one in near the router and a second one in where you want your PC.

            I was on channel 1.
Tried all 13 channels and did a speed test after. All the same at just short of 3mb.
Looks like home plugs it is.I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!0
