Seem to have lost my previous post, never mind, but did want to say I think I found something not already mentioned.

The Original Atora Shredded Suet, 67p best before Dec 2013 great for the xmas pud and HM mincemeat.

The vegetable one was still full price.

noooooooooo:rotfl: phone asda customer services on: 0800 952 0101 say you bought xyz when you put them in your cake you realised they were out of date and you're upset and they send you a gift card as goodwill, you can then return them for a refund as well:)

Don't worry, I was given a refund and offered a £10 Gift Card, but asked to speak to a Manager.
I mentioned Trading Standards and he went to some lengths to explain the systems in place, saying he could check every member of staff who should have checked the dates - we are talking over six months out of date!!! Offered to increase Gift Card to £20, which I was Very Happy with.
As I did my bargain shopping staff were madly pulling the rest of the out of date stock off the shelves and I felt like I was being given the evil eye, but my shopping was free:D

If people are paid to do a job then they should do it... I repair lamp posts and cant just tick off the job as being done! lol streets would be unlit horribly!
After yesterdays ASDA run, I thought to myself theres nobody picking up old cardboard. I know this is probably something that staff do at the end of the day, but I saw a couple of staff tuck empty boxes behind the shelves?
Wish I could work there, job being to pick up cardboard, straighten stock on shelves that have had a seeing to. Bring stock down from the top shelves onto the often empty displays, and if all thats done, then help bring baskets to the front of the store. IT seems everyone is "stuck" within their role... doesnt seem productive to me and it frustrates me as I see it everywhere I go.
edit: Id like to work there as well as my current job :) lol. Yellow sticker prices would top up the wages no doubt.

I went down to the Leyton branch today and there were no super-bargains left in the baking dept - v disappointed about the vanilla pods but I shouldn't have left it too late. There were plenty of Carnation packet desserts for 8p (not really my thing though), and some nice preserves.

There were lots of 500g bags of Asda Great Stuff wholewheat mini-penne and conchigliette - great for soups and pasta salads - for just 20p (40p/kg). Lots of pasta sauces too, but I prefer to make my own from scratch.

Just for information, no baking RTCs at Beckton either. And here ends my BH Monday tour of outer north east London.
