What's the deal?


With the highest possible score of 999 on the WOW forum feed, it's clear these Asda bargains are super popular with forumites. This thread has hundreds of listings of reduced-to-clear items at Asda, going for as little as 8p. Bargains currently on offer include baking products, desserts & pasta sauces.

Asda won't confirm all the products included but judging by what forumites are saying it's not a systems error - these lines appear to have been reduced to clear (check use-by dates before you buy). Stock is limited and all items won't be available in each store, so don't go miles out of your way.

Also while every store reserves the right not to sell stock if there is a genuine pricing error, forumites say that in all of the cases listed in this thread buyers have been successful.

Tips to find 'em


- While many bargains are marked down on the shelves, some are marked as full price but scan through reduced at the till

- Check your receipts (or watch the till display) to ensure you get the price you expect.

- If possible, self-service checkouts will help with this. If it's not reduced and you don't want it, just cancel.

- While many bargains have been found in multiple shops, they vary from store to store and forumites have noticed differences in reductions on the same items in different parts of the country.

Most of all, this is a bit of fun, NOT a guaranteed deal.

Is this legit?


The law on this is simple. If your items scan at a reduced price at the checkout, Asda staff can reject the sale and tell you it can't be bought (no one has reported this happening with the current reductions, but it has happened in the past). However, if it accepts your money, the deal's done and the product is yours at that price – there is no comeback (unlike when this happens online).
