I've got my living room window ajar (although I'm sure it's a window?!) and the log fire on.
I have access to a lot of free wood, if any NP are interested.

That's a really nice car. Too pricey for me and a little big too.
Black, of course, great (when clean!)
You can pick them up from about £6k now.
My sister (headteacher) buys a 3yr old posh car (currently a '58' plate Audi A8) for the price of a brand new Focus, puts £100 private plate on and noone knows it's a used car. Repeat every few years, and you don't lose anything.

Unfortunately in Australia, most cars depreciate very slowly so 2nd hand ones cost a fortune. There are a few exceptions but things like Audis, Beemers, Benzos etc are not in the exceptional category.
I suspect our next car will be a Renault Scenic. They depreciate like a pint of milk! They drop from $45k to $15k in 4 years (remember that they don't grit the roads here so the cars last a lot longer). The cost a lot to keep on the road but they are great for a family and the cheap price more than offsets the repair bills. By comparison, a Toyota Kluger for example drops from $50k to $30k in the same period.0 -

That's my theory, but then I choose a model that has only just began production, so the theory goes out of the window, but the private number plate stays.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The problem with eating outdoors is the insects that feed on my ankles. Found some hydrocortisone cream that is keeping the bites at bay but not reducing them. Thank you (all of you)I have a big mouth and like it when I can join in with what people are talking about, but don't want anyone getting into trouble (as unlikely as it is). Also we don't want all the local plebs coming round here for a look... they will be disappointed when all they see is my Dad's Focus (as nice as it is).

That's what my parents do - buy the best spec of the car that they are after, with the lowest miles but that is 'used'. When we were car hunting a couple of weeks ago (modest cars only) that was the strategy.PasturesNew wrote: »You wouldn't have got that problem with a caravan in Skeggy.

I'm all prepped for nightmare weekend weather, and planned the horses worming for this weekend, as it would keep them off the wet fields and seems perfectly timed? Now the ruddy sun has come out.. Grrrrrr.0

Urgh not well....blooming boys look like they have passed the dreaded cold onto me.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
