Or maybe we just just delete every post we make tonight to keep the count low?0 -

Still trying to lean on dh to magic up money we don't have and consider the Volvo i like and a tractor. (which means we would also need to buy a horse box). I just do not trust our car.
Totally inconsistent IMHO, Volvo cars are very heavy to drive, if you are having problems you need something that is light to handle and easy to manoeuvre. If it is an issue of strength then you want something automatic and light steering. If it is a question of the capacity to do everything at once then you want automatic with parking assist and rear view cameras etc.
I'm too scared to drive out here, both because it's the wrong side of the road and because people drive like lunatics. Annoying because if I had a car I'm sure I would feel happy to stay out here for longer than OH, but without a car I would feel isolated.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Are there serious issues if the number of posts > 10k?

I have just put the heating on, first time this year so I am rather pleased. We are either getting tougher or the weather milder.
We are not having oysters for tea:(Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

I haven't test driven it, so I dunno, but I drove a different Volvo (estate) last week and it was like driving a safe cloud.. It felt the perfect balance of solid and yet easy to drive. Course, I had no idea how big it was, ist the front the last thing I could see was almost the bottom of the windscreen wipers:eek: I had a very old Volvo for a while while a student and that WAS heavy. Didn't help that the steering column had dropped:rotfl:
The thing spthat makes me feel unsafe in our car is that it's old and cranky. It is also dispproportionate ly heavy to manouvre and has the turning circle of a jumbo jet. It's not nippy, so even well I feel like I could pop up to London for supper with dh I know the car will let me down, the other car (not mine) is bigger and less easy to guage size off, but I don't mind that....I can park etc (used to drive seven and a half tonnes, so I am not adverse to big, so long as its light now).
The Volvo last was definitely lighter than the Nissan too and smoother.
If we find money for a car obviously we will test drive them before finalising options. (ideally, if it didn't mean having a stupid number of cars I would really like a dog free small eco car to nip about in...like that smart roadster, but we don't want to have two cars. (and a lorry and a tractor).
While I was unwell (note past tense,. I managed five minuites of dancing today too) I would not drive when I felt dodgy. I won't put other people at risk, too arrogant even for me.

You are tough - we would have ours on in August if it had been working.
Our kitchen is nearly finished so we may be able to think about having the next NP meet up here although it is not as exciting as the place where we met previouslyI have just put the heating on, first time this year so I am rather pleased. We are either getting tougher or the weather milder.

We had 2 on our drive last weekend (not at the same time)
Wish we had a driveway or were allowed to park on our front "garden".:(lostinrates wrote: »Of course I do. (shruggy smiley). How could you not having lived there. Miss the black bread.
Hmmmm.
Makes me wonder if you are also aware of the northwest london odd ball who is often found in one patisserie or another who dh and I call'the custard slice man'? I will never, ever, eata custard slice again.....long fingernails...lots of tissues involved in his eating regime....do you know him?
Omg, hope you aren't him!
And what could put anyone off the pleasure that is the custard slice - or am I better off not knowing? Are there serious issues if the number of posts > 10k?There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Rubbish, the people are the key to these things anyway. We all coped at the last place even with no functional bathroom door and a building site!
Btw, did every one know after me saying 'don't shut the door to everyone, dh did, and had to climb out over the roof?'. I had no idea till later or the next day.0 -

When you meet DW again you all have to pretend you don't know this but she also got stuck in the bathroom but luckily had her mobile...I think....0 -

Were they yours? I've often had a blue Ferrari and a black Bentley on my drive, neither of which belong to me.

If you and GBD can just take out the bits that identify the brand, that would be fab
No, definitely not mine!! (would not be living chez ma and pa if I had that kind of £). Not parents either. We are just well connected in that way
If anyone is ever in the market for one, just let me know :rotfl:0
