Order in advance and find a deal or code, go through quidco or topcashback.

I think I bought Mrs.Wheezy cut flowers about 5 or 6 times in the last 8 years.
Way too overpriced and no, I'm not being cheap here, but the idea of spending £50 or more on a bunch of dying flowers that go in the bin next week...I don't know. I'd rather give something lasting.
But maybe I'm too MSE about it all?0 -

That's really interesting. I hadn't realised there is a problem. Of course, Helium is very freely available in the atmosphere, but the cost of condensing it out is high. Apparently, it's produced cheaply as a by-product of natural gas production, and supply is diminished as gas production is lower. I agree it seems crazy to waste it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
After he has borrowed wheezy westie, he'll be known as "humpmylegoff"
Dog dog has taken an absolute adoration of one of the builders, She goes into wriggly excited puppy mode, puppy biting his hand, inviting him to play with her and wriggling with joy. Ots really funny. Big dog, who can be antisocial likes to walk around near the builders, but not actually be touched by them. If they try and stroke her she leaps away.
I did a walk around for lights today and decided only to get one outside light at this stage. I don't want the whole thing lit up like a light show, and the one i am getting is by a back door with a motion sensor, just really so we can see our way in from that side. When the back garden side is done we will have six lights in all (either side of new bit french windows, existing french window, and then not the french window we are doing now, but the corner of the building, so that we have lighting to the main back garden path.
More than that seems.....too much. I can also have candles in jars or storm lanterns or stuff.0 -

Has this actually happened? I know there's a potential problem, eg link but helium balloons seem as popular as ever in the colonies. Maybe He is being rationned as a super secret squirrel part of austerity.
BTW, I started a new job on Monday: back to investment banking. It's nice to be back to the plush offices, fruit and biccies in the kitchens, drinks in the board room on Friday evenings with the traders. We are a very rare beast too: an investment bank that has neither been bailed out by the Government nor is being done for Libor manipulation. There's a very nice view over the harbour from one window and down to Botany Bay from the other which whiles away the hours.0 -

I was at the last place over 2.5 years so it's not that bad!
It doesn't help that I'm thoroughly fed up with banking and really want to get out but can't afford to just yet.0 -
