Anybody see the start of the paralympics?

Couple of questions hanging in the air. Did public transport keep running late enough to get everybody home and did half the world switch off the visual feed when the nude statue got wheeled in?

i saw a bit of it - went on a bit i thought, especially the 17 hours of the athletes parade, but then i missed that bit of the olympics opening ceremony so maybe that was just as bad.

    ha ha ha ha.

Boy oh boy. You've been set some early standards there. Celebrating an anniversary of when you met! :rotfl:

I've managed to wean Mrs JB off the whole anniversary thing (the marriage one - even she's not daft enough to expect something to mark when we met!!).
Couple of clips round the ear in the early years but no more tension for me about nearly forgetting, actually forgetting, getting the wrong thing, it needing to be more special than last time (oo-er). Explained it all away as it seemed unnecessary as my mum and dad never celebrate it. :D

    It's the way to go.
Think about the rod you're creating here.
    Long term vision man.
Time to let her know how it's going to be from now on.

    :D

to be fair it's not difficult to deal with - pay someone else to deliver flowers to her and then take it in turns to book somewhere for dinner each year. that's pretty much it, and as we go out for dinner every week anyway, it's just the flowers and a slightly posher restaurant than normal, which isn't too much of a rod for my back.

and if you're not married when else is your anniversary supposed to be (apart from never, of course, which is preferable i agree)?

i do make up for it by going on a ski trip which coincides with her birthday every year, so we'll call it a draw.

I actually managed to stay awake for the whole cermoney last night while fixing a PC, its getting to the poitn now where I do so many PC repairs I could start another business, will stick with the one for now.

i don't get her flowers because society demands it, i get her flowers because she cries if i don't. (although may this is in a roundabout way because society demands it).

anyway, i haven't sent the flowers yet so i better sod off.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Tbh, i would cry if someone sent me flowers for thirty quid. You don't get much for that from a delivery place.

Btw, just remembered, dh did not propose with a ring at all, he gave me a kitten. You cannot say no to a man with a kitten.

Curiously, as hardly anybody knows about it, HMRC offer their own PAYE software. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/paye/tools/basic-paye-tools.htm

I've used that. It is pretty basic and limited to I think 10 employees.

But there is only me and occasionally a mini silvercar on the payroll.
