Beautiful, thank you. I was going to grow up to be a Jetson, or so I thought. Heavens, books were going to be replaced by a hand-held device and I was going to have a robot to do all my housework.

    Kindle.

There are those tobovacs too aren't there? People had such high hopes. Now i guess we hope robots won't take any more jobs from industry! But still do the house work ourselves.

On a lighter note, this is what we dreamed of the future. :D

How did it turn out in the end? ;)

I read there's two million robots. Pretty much all in factories, (or on mars).

Plus we watch them fight in arenas for our entertainment.

So for you is alone a nice break or better over?

Is Mr Spirit doing OK with his ribs?

I have been home alone since Thursday as DD has gone off too. In all truth it I am a slave to their pets... walked the dog in the woods, walked the dog on the common, took dog to the watermeadows for a swim, let chickens out, put chickens away, put bunnies out, put bunnies away, fed everything many times, visited DD's shared pony took its piccie to send as assurance that it is well. I have also done the laundry and ironing - usually Mr S does all that. I actually took Friday off work as I get worn out trying to do 'home alone' and work.

Mr S's ribs were fine on day five the day they said would be the peak but he said pretty rough yesterday and today. He is busy from 8am to the small hours at the moment so cannot rest. On the plus side he was attending a reception this evening in a great venue and they invited DD and her BF which was kind, and then someone gave DD hospitality tickets to a concert tonight for a good band.. so sound like she has had a good time too.

Cinderella is now watching Inspector Montalbano and despite another lot of anti-bugs has rebelled and had a beer!

Mr S gets home late tomorrow night:T:T:T Then off again Thurs & Friday:(

    RIP my hero Neil Armstrong:(.

As a child my parents woke us all up to come downstairs and watch the first walk on the moon.

    Magical, memorable, inspirational.

We discussed ages ago that there's a conspiracy theory that it was all faked. I regard it as a "Zombie Fact".

No matter how often we dispatch it with ruthless logic and rational efficiency; it slumps around refusing to return to the grave that should be its resting place.

If it had been faked would the Soviets have kept quiet about it? Never in a million years!

Every journalist in the world would have been given the scoop of the century all neatly typed up and then be invited to race to print it!:D:rotfl:

I watched it live too at school. I was in Australia at the time and from memory it was about 2pm. We were all marched into a hall and were allowed to watch part of it. As there were about 300 of us and there was only a small room with a TV, nobody got to see the whole thing. I got to see the bit where they came down the ladder after landing.

Many years later, when I met my husband, one of the first things we spoke about was our shared love of the space programme. It was nerd heaven then and still is now!

Plus of course, if it was done on a sound stage, Neil Armstrong's line's wouldn't have been fluffed because there would have been a second take!

Though I've been watching Sky News tonight and in a gift to conspiracists they had a quote from President Nixon saying how great Armstrong was and seemed to be completely oblivious to the fact he died in 1994!

Just to lower the tone a bit ....it is my beer talking....there is a thread on another board asking people if they have tattoos.

I am needle phobic and unsurprisingly do not have any piercings or tattoos. Do other NP have anything?

The last tattoo thread someone put up a rther funny map of the body and what tattoo locations meant.

I have nothing. I often do not wear my wedding ring, and suggested to dh i have is intials in tiny, tiny discrete writing where would be hidden my a ring. He was very unusually not indulgant. So no.
