Re; scarves (which are my most favourite thing) the best way for them to stay put is to have the larger sized squares, fold to a triangle and tie to nape of neck then twist the ends and pull back up to tie above the forehead , then tuck in ends so smooth line. Guaranteed it will stay in place. I would do a demo or post a step by step diagram but can't.
Good to hear docs things are happening now.
What's this electric tennis racket? I think we need one as we are getting eaten alive at the moment. Huge ones coming up off the river and worse than the ones on holiday. I also had a naked OH leap out of bed with a yelp after we had turned light out last night (and I was just nodding off). It buzzed past his ear so he decided he had to catch it........ got a book and waited with it poised to swat..... all alert scanning the room *sigh*. At one point he stood on the bed in full nekked glory looking for it on the ceiling.
And he didn't catch it either.
He would love an electric mosky swatter.;)Doozergirl wrote: »Sigh at it all. .
And killing cats. We're still killing cats by building.
Rant over, maybe.
EDIT: I'd quite like to be in Vogue.
Cats? I must have missed that post. How can your build affect any cats?lostinrates wrote: »Aw, don't worry pn. We all have our stresses in life, this one is mine. I don't want other people to feel loads and loads and loads worried!
Tbh, i am calmer now, just very tired!
Our extension plans are now going ahead with OH managing the job (he has done this before) and a fab builder we know (who we thought would be too busy) is happy to do the groundwork, build and plastering.
OH will do all the joinery, windows etc and get trades in to do the plumbing/electris. The roof they will do together.
Fortunately we know some we can use who are good. The dream plan of letting one firm do the entire thing was just way too expensive sadly.
I have a 90cm printer at work so we have printed the plans off, pinned them up and I stare at them dreamily.
We will go for a car showrrom interior finish and then will make huge boards that I will paper and hang on the walls so I can change the colours as and when I have a change of mood.
I think I might draw my own wallpaper design too and get it digitally printed with matching fabric.
We have decide to start with the front 1st probably kick off in 2 weeks time....dreading the dust. Building control cheque went in this week so that's all getting sorted too (for the back).0 -
Hasn't she improved by around 11 secs in the last month? is that the one? I know she's a growing girl, but .... it's an unbelievable performance.
I wish I could improve by 11 seconds in 3 months much less one week
I may have hit a barrier with my training. Do you think if I eat more cake it will help?0 -

No good for flies in my opinion, great for mozzies or horseflies. The smell of cooked bug is somewhat ....strong.
what do you do with the triang
E point left at neck? Does it get held down by return to top of head?0 -

I always do my best times on Mondays off the back of a heavy weekend. My performance seems to be boosted by a factor directly proportional to the number of packets of cigarettes smoked.0 -

After you have tied at nape of neck, bring back up the two ends and twist and tie at top of head (or to side near ear if long enough) then tuck under the ends underneath the twist.
The triangle at the back just hangs over the back neck.
Does that make sense?
It only works on a metre square really and fine silk crepe de chine...bit like Liberty weight scarf.
My favourite thing is to buy a 1m piece of silk and hem it myself....but I mostly just wear then around my neck. I am lucky as I do have a vinatge haul (when we did vinatge clothing years ago) so have all sorts of unusual Hermes, Dior, Gucci ones etc.
Current favourites are an English Eccentrics one I am wearing now that I bought from Harvey Nicholls in 1983 that was incorrectly priced @ £7.95 instead of £79.95. (I struggled even then to pay the £7.95 as I think I earnt about £2 per hour P/T) but it now needs re-hemming as I have worn it out.
Most comments I get are on a Hermes one (that was actually the skirt of an old dress) covered in odd little animals and very subtle colours and a Sarah Arnett silk crepe one which was (sadly) from her closing down sale and I bought 1.5m of fabric for a tenner. I did notice she had a range in Liberty this season so she got back up on her feet again.0 -

Oh Yes :rotfl:....just showed this to OH (who I could tell was thinking of going up to scan the room before we go to sleep) and he wants one very much. Love Love the name ''The Executioner Fly Swat Wasp Bug Mosquito Swatter Zapper''.
So tomorrow I will order The Executioner for him
I think our men will be swatting with their executioners (stark nekked) at roughly the same time every night.
He sends his thanks.0 -
