Is it just me or does that tweet to Tom Daley look more insensitive than illegal?

they should both be sent to jail for having a twitter account in the first place.0 -

Give us dimensions and we'll see if it fits in the Doozer Truck.
You, me and LIR, dressed in black, under cover of darkness to bring this swan back to it's rightful owners! We might need help to hoof it over the gates, if they're locked. Lads?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

He must have felt sick to his stomach when he read it.
I know the context, but we need to have a dividing line between grossly bad taste and criminal. I'm all in favour of laws protecting people from harassment, but if this was a single post it shouldn't be caught by the law. What's next? Theatre critics being jailed because they say a particular actor was really carp?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

it's a ridiculous overreaction by the police to arrest him. so many far worse things have been said about so many people on the internet (and face to face) that choosing this to make an example of is pathetic.
if i abused you in similar fashion on twitter, and you filed a formal complaint, what do you think the chance of the police even acknowledging your complaint would be? i was beaten to a bloody pulp when i was 17 and the police wouldn't even investigate it. not really sure why they need to start arresting people for giving tom daley a bit of jip.
the police will no doubt say that because a complaint was made their were obliged to follow the matter up and investigate it - well why is it that they don't follow up or investigate thousands of complaints made by normal people every single day of the week. fact is, he's famous and is a media darling so they have waded in where they were not needed.
if twitter just bans the "troll" and prevents him from reregistering then the job is done. arrests and prosecutions are farcial (although this isn't as bad as the bloke taken to court for supposedly threatening to blow up robin hood airport, or the people slung in jail for inciting a riot that no-one turned up to).0 -
good luck nikki and chewie for jobs.
one more busy evening and then my boss goes off for 3 weeks0 -
