    Ok.

    had awful insomnia last night

I didn't sleep well last night... Had a job interview this morning!

Wasn't expecting to get an interview, so pleased I got that far. But now I would really quite like the job. At least that's over now, really hate interviews, presentations etc.

i have now been awake solidly since 6am on monday morning. surprisingly i am still operating reasonably effectively (for me, at least) but i expect i will be about as active as a slug by the time i get home.

i had a job interview last week, for an internal move. hopefully i get it because i'm bored of what i'm doing at the moment and need something new to do!

The nice builders saw Bombay Duck doughnut today. She was sleeping on the straw that is filling the barn at the end of my garden as it does at this time of year, i pointed her out and they sweetly said they had already taken photos of her and envied her having such a relaxing morning. Earlier they were enchanted by a wood pigeon squab peering out of a nest in the barn at them, taking immense interest in our discussions about windows.

I love it when the straw comes in, its such a wonderful colour and smell of summer (well, usually, not in the rain, and when the sun sets occasionally the colour thrown onto it looks like some sort of celestial bonfire. I cannot see my hay from the house, but new hay smells even better than straw even if the colour is slightly 'flatter'.

The nearest I get to an internal move is if I do the dusting instead of the vacuuming :D

Thanks for the wishes of luck :) Feel I have pushed my good fortune already, but think it generally went ok (and definitely better than I expected) so I'm happy.
