There are SO many wonderful books for girls.
And I'd forgotten about her. She was a firm favourite of mine at that age. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Thanks everyone! I'll make the list and we can go to the library tomorrow. Waterstones closed down here at the weekend, she liked to scour for something special, so I'll have to go elsewhere for a keeper.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

She has a huge collection of Roald Dahl, Of which the journey is starting, and she's read some Jacqueline Wilson but she asked me what authors I liked, but I only remember Roald Dahl and Judy Blume, and Point Horrors but they're way too old. I was definitely a precocious 7 year old, however. She has Korky Paul books which she hasn't shown much interest in - I don't know if they were hard or not her thing.
I promised her a book for swallowing nasty medicine.
I loved reading Sherlock Holmes at that age. obviously, a lot of the finer points went right past me, but I loved the stories and the puzzles. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

6.45am train from richmond to waterloo - completely rammed. Fully of useless t0sspots all going to the olympics. jubilee line at waterloo was similar but not quite as full, but as all the useless t0sspots going to the olympics wanted to board the train as slowly as possible and then stand in the doorway and not move down inside, bad chewy emerged, and i pushed in at the front of the queue and barged a couple of people dressed in flags.
left home 6.25, got to work 7.25. not too bad. however...power failure in the work cafeteria. no coffee. fail.
i'll try the 6.21am slow train tomorrow morning...
Travel alert: Just got back home from LHR via W3.
Roads are dead, Heathrow is dead, CK is dead, kids are dead (Wasn't me ) bar is bursting!
I'm leaving Armen in charge of that one tonight!💙💛 💔0 -
It's raining. Yesterday was horrid and ended up freezing, with a strong wind blowing all day.... and today it's raining.
And I've NO idea how to waste my time today.0 -

Ok.
had awful insomnia last night, so didn't make the 6.21 as i was hoping. got the 6.51 slow and got to work at about 7.45.
got a seat on the train, although so did a lot of people with children, one of whom thought it was fine to play videos on their iphone with for their 2 year old child to watch with the speaker turned right up...
tube was ok, got quite busy at london bridge. there were a couple of good arguments on the tube, one of which appeared to involve a woman at london bridge getting on the train when there was space for one more person, and then asking the man in a suit trying to get to work who had got on before her to get off the train so her 11 year old daughter could get on as they needed to get to the olympic park together. i am sure you can imagine that it went down particularly well.0 -
Silver in the team eventing. I saw almost none of it but did see mary king ride round. I have met her a couple of times and she appearec to be polite, gracious and enthusiastic.0
