Dh strimmed about two acres in two and a quarter hours yesterday. I was pretty impressed. Shame its the tip of the iceberg:rotfl:

I tried to get some of it done yesterday but there was a fair nearby with someone singing in the open air to raise money for a charity. Felt a bit like Scrooge with the racket from my strimmer so I used that as an excuse to give up:A

The sound and beat was good but I had to close my eyes to appreciate that as I was a bit disturbed by the video.

Man living outside mainstream community manipulates children and attracts young girls with promises of music, dancing and sparkling harem bikini tops and pants. But in a good way!

Perhaps an opinion on cultural diversity but made my skin crawl as it seemed to promote the wrong sort of interest in children.

The culture of the Caucasus is so different when it comes to things like this, and it’s nothing of the sort (If you can speak Armenian).

    Point taken, though :)

I guess this asks the question: what sort of interest do YOU have in children?
    :)

Without wanting to seem blunt (or weird) when I say this, I have a large financial interest in children. The mainstream record labels won’t touch them with a barge pole (We’re Georgian-incorporated, head office below our apartment on Chavchavadze Ave. to cut a lot of the red tape), and as I’ve obviously made a living from somewhere, the theory is obviously correct :)

Call me old fashioned, but I do not strim on Sundays, especially as I have silencer woes.

Lots of single people in our village activities today, but anything pre-packaged, like crisps, would be a big social, no-no. Made that mistake last year! :o

This time, I bought hand made pizzas which could, conceivably, have been fashioned lovingly by us in our kitchen.....but all we really did was bung them in the oven.:p

They were probably the healthiest option on the table, other than the egg & cress sandwiches.

So, the guy on eBay has a buy it now of £1400 on his car. I email & say if it doesn't sell when the listing ends today, I will come to see it, but I'm looking to pay no more than £1300, 'cos I need to add on a towbar. He responds "You can have it with fresh tax for 6 months at £1500" Am I missing something? :( Yeah, I know....last of the big spenders!

I'm using that as an excuse to not strim today!
Plus it'll have rained by tomorrow so that's another excuse to put it off.
    :D

I haven't made a pizza from ingredients since 1979! I wasn't much good at it either, often forgot to make them edible.

Just looked at the long range forecast. Rain most days for the next two weeks. Sigh... We may have one good day on Saturday.

Well, its a shame, but its good for the garden. For me its a crying shame, as i watch my grass go to seed and curse not selling the crop...but hey ho, worse things happen at sea.

For various reasons by the time we went to bed last night it was really late, and i feel like i have been playing catchup all day plus my head is thumping. Doesn't help apthis old horse drama continuing. (she has picked up a little again) while i am glad she is alive its very draining watching and waiting and hoping and despairiong all the time! And our vacuum cleaner has had a fit and needs to go and be surfaced. Those who have been here will see carpets here are not to be proud of, but though they are stained and unattractive, i like them to be vacuumed at least.

Not sure what we will do in the rain, so much outside needs doing. Might spend some time cleaning the feed room though, or grit teeth and sweep in the rain.....yeah, might do that one.

My thanks button's decided to not work on the Sabbath.

It's been quite blowy here today - and on/off drizzle and perpetually grey.

Mine was being a pita yesterday.

Dh and i just started sweeping our enclosed farmyard (we have different areas of yard, but if i just say yard you will think i mean like outside a back door:D.

We managed about a tenth of it. The further yard gets swept a lot more, because the horses stand there daily! But this one, one part of it has not been swept since the last frosts, i remember because i re gritted having swept up the grit i leave there all winter.

We managed a tiny corner and then came in soaking and puffing. Where we haven't swept for a few weeks in the cracks of concrete dirt has settled and weeds, our constand battle against weeds...have grown back, quicker than ever. I need to empty the water troughs too, lots of yucky larvae in them.

Body identified. A 20 year old from Stroud, visiting the area as part of an end of season football tour for Leonard Stanley AFC. They're pursuing a line of enquiry that he might have been set upon, rather than it being a lone accident/event.
