CK, you're a father of two in a settled relationship. A mere conversation about buying bras shouldn't be that much of a shock to you. Once your daughters reach their teens you'll have to cope with much more than that! ;)

It's still not acceptable! Bra chat should be confined to its own thread in my view.

I imagine CK's plan to deal with his girls growing up is to forbid them from leaving the house and to set up a secure perimeter with a 20ft high electric fence surrounding a dead zone overlooked by 100 snipers with and littered with claymores. They can date when they turn 30. With a chaperone.

No we hate them, why else do you think we want girls to take them off and chuck them on the floor?

Not as much as they like the absence of a bra, I imagine. [X-posted with chewy]

I still don't get why an everyday item of clothing should be so scary, even to someone who's not the gender to wear that item. I mean, I can't imagine any woman being troubled by a mixed discussion of, say, jockstraps or boxes. As for being bothered by a mixed discussion of an item that most men on here will have personal experience of undoing...

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Metal.

That's the lads rendered speechless for at least 2 hours ...

In my family, scientific curiosity trumps conventional behaviour, er... well, within reason it does. I remember when I was little going to a toy shop with my dad. He wanted a spinning top to use in a lecture about the mechanics of precession - the way in which the axis of the top wobbles round slowly as the top itself spins much faster. So we had to get all the available tops out of their boxes and spin them on the floor to find out which would precess best before falling over. The toyshop staff thought we were barmy, but it didn't bother us.

Well, why do they like seeing women in them?
