I'm the same (as in preferring a bath), but couldn't live without the shower.
It's great to get home and literally be able to chuck the girls in the shower (one at a time and not literally, of course) if it's approaching 20h30 respectively and they haven't had one.
I've literally just got home tonight to relieve a friend of the childcare duties, and it's nice to report that they were both asleep, before 8 for 'Aunty Elena' (a shop worker in the town). If only they did this for me!
We've just started the first day of our kids' summer project, so I've gained 2 children until the end of August; one Ukrainian and one Georgian. Mum's come on board this year (as our registered doctor, for 2 days of the 4 we're operating each week) and I'm pleased to say that we have our special guest; Eurovision 1991 winner, Carola Haggkvist who's flown in from Sweden as one of our mentors! (That photo was last year)
If only she'll take a full-time job with us, she's truly amazing! She's got Valeriya Engalacheva and Anastasia Petryk (Russia and Ukraine respectively in Junior Eurovision this year)
I will be about, but not in bulk for the next month and a bit!

Ouch! We've got a cellar that fills with water, and I'm getting it sorted professionally when I've got £20k spare as I don't want to damage the house, especially as we're thinking of putting it back on the market....There is a crack in the georgian front
So, I'm to blame, am I? :eek:The dogs are being amazingly good. Because inhad to go put for a chunk of day they were quite clingy this evening, its not their make up to stay alone at home and let people 'attack' the house.:D
Well, at least you've got a free security alarm here. My cat disappears as soon as she sees a Stort Builders van drive up the road now

I've read 14. What's missing, & what is your score?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

A bath is useful for many things, not just having a bath - and it's for those reasons that I miss having one. So many small homes these days only have a shower.... I'd use a bath to:
- clean up a big beach-combing haul
- sit on the edge of the bath to wash my feet after being on a beach
- putting big things in soak for random reasons
- washing unusually large items
- using an over-the-bath airer to dry clothes, and drying things that've been hand-washed
But it is nice to have a bath sometimes.
I also find it almost impossible to keep my balance and shave my legs in a shower.0 -

We keep orchids in ours during the warmer, sunnier(?) months when windowsills become les hospitable.
I've read just 8 of the fiction books on the list, all voluntarily though.:o
£20k has just dropped through the door for the sale of our old garden, so that's done & dusted.
Also in the same post, a quote for insurance on this place, which seems to be up about £100, despite no claims in three years. Ordinary insurers won't usually cover smallholdings, so there's a choice of just a few.

It's ..... raining.
I could/should sort out a CV... thing is, that's on my PC, which is in storage.... and it's in Word. I've got a copy online somewhere ... and probably in my sent email.
Annoying really. A developer should create an online CV you can fill in, then mix/match by ticking boxes to produce an instant PDF.... so you can have as many variations as you want

My orchids do even better in the sun.
Well done on the garden sale.
Phone insurer and ask if that is the best price before you look elsewhere; bet they drop it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My orchids do even better in the sun.
Same with ours.
Having read somewhere orchids need shelter from direct sunlight, we did so for a while and orchids were hardly blooming and if they were, it was a stalk with two or three flowers.
Now we leave them in full sunlight and they are doing so much better.0 -
I am hopeless with orchids.
