As founding member of !!!!!! (Mushroom International Liberation Front), I feel the need to specify that I don't really like those big flat black ones either.

i really like those ones, but people usually grill them and i don't think they are nice grilled.

I hope lostinrates' builders turned up on time this morning, seeing as no-one elses seem to be!

Had mummy coffee this morning, now I'm bleaching my hoover. Saturday's cancelled sports day at 2pm, just need to organise what's for tea and walk the dog. Better do that now and get the wellies on before I get comfy again.

My first day off in ages where I actually feel like it's a day off. :) My house might get cleaned, maybe.

:). Everything going like stink here, I had to go out for the afternoon, and i think i held them up as no one could find the stop !!!!. The old kitchen is GONE and looks much bigger. Its going to be a nice study indeed.

Had an 'interesting' conversation with some woman (on benefits for depression) I met at the bus-stop who attached herself to me.... gave me the name of some local LL that's apparently got more flats to rent than the Council have - and she's just moved into one of his new builds. She seems nice enough .... she's apparently just moved from the area I'm in and gave me her number to give her a call next week and she can introduce me to people in the area.... she goes to the library book club, so has the potential to know nice people.... on the other hand, she might know the blokes from the bus-stop.

    Amazing! Brilliant news pn.

& here's the non-fiction list if you prefer (I'm 19 on this one...In Cold Blood is possibly my favouritest book ever!)

I've read 17 of the fiction but at least 2 of them I heard as audiobooks.
Non-fiction- only 3: Golden Braid, Homage to Catalonia, and In Cold Blood. Reads bits of some of the others on a philosophy course.
Edit: 5 now didn't notice life of Johnson, and samuel Pepys' Diary

I'm supposed to have read Mrs Dalloway on an English course but can't remember any of it which makes me wonder if i ever got round to it.

Lj have you read any early Stephen King? If not, try some just after re-reading "In Cold Blood" - you'll feel like he gave Stephen a masterclass in writing to make millions.

I have read at least thirty five of the fiction list. There arw a few more i cannot remember if i have read but i seem to know the story, so either i have read them or seen film adaptations. plus, my favourite book of all time is on the list, a book that changed me.

but have not looked at the non fiction list.

Shattered, tired, and exhausted now and ithink my car might be dying.

Then it's time to part-exchange it for a new one / sell it to whatever that website is that buys any car? :)

Anyhoo, with all this talk of vegetables, I seem to recall that the poet Edward Fitzgerald was that human tragedy, a vegetarian who hated vegetables and never ate them.

I have never succeeded in selling a car or doing a part ex. Dh has never tried. I tend to run 'em till they are dead, and put too much money into doing that.

But yes. I think its time to consider a part ex. Which, frankly, terrifies me.

I've read 14. What's missing, & what is your score?

I've read 24, but some of them were forced school reading.
