    Missing non-fiction book:
"Guns, Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond.

Or maybe Deadly Companions by Dorothy Crawford. One weird part involves sending boatloads of orphans from Spain to the Americas and transferring cowpox between batches of them at stages in the journey so there would be potential vaccine donors still infectious on arrival so they could vaccinate the New World (or would it just have been the colonists?).
I have never succeeded in selling a car or doing a part ex. Dh has never tried. I tend to run 'em till they are dead, and put too much money into doing that.

But yes. I think its time to consider a part ex. Which, frankly, terrifies me.

I've always had the thrash it and trash it attitude. If the notional value falls below a few 100s then deffo part-exchange.

I'm afraid the last few cars I did that with were held together by sticky-backed plastic and wishful thinking and probaly fell apart like the keystone kops car as we tiptoed away to the showroom's interior.

If I had the cash I'd love to get a new more economical car, maybe running on deisel or gas.

Don't know what this is worth, Hate buyng cars. Feel patching it up repeatedly may cost more. Reckon it might be worth a grand to soneone though.

Not sure what to replace with. :(

I accidentally, unintentionally ... and begrudgingly ... just walked 6.5 miles. I've got a burst blister in the arch of one foot :(

I only intended to go down to the beach, but when I was there I thought I'd walk to the next town along the beach..... eventually got there (I was ambling and collecting shells).... and I thought I could get a bus back, but there weren't any and I was over a mile from a bus on the routes back this way.... so I had to walk back.

Then I washed my feet and went for a 10 minute dip in the pool to unwind.

I saw a mushroom growing on a tree about 200 yards from here... I'd have photographed it except it was at the end of my epic mis-journey and I just wanted it all to be over.... it was medium/delicate, had a kind of silverfish grey look about it, smooth, almost flat across the top, except the top was a little wavy.

    It's probably a killer....

I've read 14. What's missing, & what is your score?

Just 8. Lots I want to read though. I mostly read NF though.

I've just been through the non-fiction list. I'd only read 7 of those. I read a ton of non-fiction and they don't like most of it by the look of things. Their travel list is cr*p. They don't have The Road to Oxiana by Robert Byron, often regarded as the best travel book ever. Further there's nothing by Thesiger and no Down and Out in Paris and London nor As I Walked out One Midsummer Morning. Big omissions.

I'm not quite sure what it does say about me that two of the books I have read were The Art of War and The Prince. In my defence I did have to study both.

Well, thankfully managed to rearrange the hospital appt for this week with no drama today. Everything seems to be happening this week, leaving me somewhat rushed! I did not expect much to be happening with animals but turns out we have a biggish thing happening tomorrow afternoon (which i had pencilled in as a day of rest) which i will be handling for a client.

Most excitingly, and i realise this seems dull to most, we are getting an unplanned shower put in over the bath, because the water supply has to change and will remove the existing immersion tank. This means we can delay the other bathroom, a great relief with such turmoil atm.

Its amazing to see the movement cracks that were concealed behind the kitchen units.....and the filth.
