PasturesNew wrote: »Random question, thought by me while watching telly: When you get divorced, do you get paperwork you keep? Should you hold onto this in case in the future you're asked to prove you're divorced? If you get remarried you'd presumably need some paperwork - so could you potentially then lose the one original copy you had? I've found no divorce papers while looking through and sorting out all the paperwork and the old was previously divorced.

Copies are easily obtained, but rather expensive (unless you know the case number). So, losing the paperwork is a very POSH thing to do.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
No sign of the Daily Fail but I may get name checked in the Evening Standard in the next few weeks (fame or what!). Slightly embarassing moment when I thought I might have emailed one of the PR agencies giving feedback on a contact arranged by the other one (and they work for directly competing companies) but luckily I had got it the right way round.
I need to get on with my blog if I am to reap any reward from all this exposure...I think....0 -
Do ypu need the paperwork pn.....almost certain my mother doesn't have hers for previous marriages....is this something i have to worry about in the future?
Four days old, my little chicks, and already running about scratching for bugs themselves, growing their tiny wing feathers through and to my shock, had climbed down the ramp from the house they are in to the small run. Never had chicks do that so young. Poor jojo has her fluffy wings full taking care of that lot.0 -
The wanderer returns on Saturday for the weekend.....none of the boys are interested in being with him. James because he is working, middle son because he has given up on him and youngest because he doesn't feel like being sociable.
I'll get the blame.......
Sue, you get the blame according to whom? The wanderer himself? Does his opinion about that actually matter to you? It shouldn't. His thoughts are his thoughts - they belong inside his head, and there's no obligation for you to let them get inside yours. If he tells you it's your fault, tell him politely that the boys make their own decisions and you've no wish to discuss it with him. If it's just that you know that he thinks it, let go of it. He thinks a lot of things that are ludicrously untrue - for example that his behaviour to his sons constitutes adequate fatherhood.PasturesNew wrote: »They're also - !!!!!!' annoying... must be teachers.

Interesting that the direct.gov site lists a death certificate under the heading of "proof of divorce or dissolution"!!! I think they need to sort their subheadings out, somehow. Unless maybe they think it's covered by "dissolution" - as in "dissolved by death". Still, I think those widow(er)s (or surviving civil partners) who, unlike me, were happily married, might well feel offended since in every other legal or government document I've seen, divorced/dissolved is used to mean "split up" and "widowed/surviving civil partner" is used to mean "somebody died".
Proof of divorce or dissolutionProof of divorce or dissolution includes:- a divorce decree absolute or final order of civil partnership dissolution bearing the court's original stamp
- the death certificate of your former husband, wife or civil partner
ETA I keep trying to make that thing from the direct.gov site be all one quote, and it keeps splitting it back up again. Anyone any idea why?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

You need to bring originals of all documentation to the local register office - photocopies are not accepted.
That maybe if you are registering to get married again ie divorce or death are acceptable proof that you are free to remarry.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'd have liked to have seen the date, for instance.0 -
Now it is sounding like a running commentary of heir hunters...PasturesNew wrote: »No. It's one of those family secret things. Remove the [/ quote] from the end of the first quote and remove the [ quote] from the start of the second quote.
