I do HATE the use of the word "local", because not everybody has a "local" and people with one make assumptions that everybody has one. This goes for most people re most companies.
My "local" Waitrose is 50 miles away.
So, O don't deliver here, W don't deliver here.
I've only ever been in a Waitrose once, about 5 years ago, when I wandered in for one product right as they were shutting their doors. It was a tiny store and they didn't have the one thing I was looking for.... never went back for it.0 -
You know you're doomed when searches for a little safe place to put your head down start returning prices of £1000-6000/month ... because it's holiday time and because there's the Olympics .. and because people can.0

I'm bored.
Spent most of the weekend pottering around in the garden.
Watched the football - agree with Nikkster, don't really know why ashley young stayed on the pitch. Thought our centre backs were immense in the tournament, & extremely proud that one of them was Jolean Lescott.
Thinking about buying tickets to go & see David O'Doherty, and also Arthur Smith on their tours later in the year.
Did any non-football fans watch Julius Ceasar in the Shakespeare uncovered season on BBC4 on sunday night? If you didn't, I assume it is on iplayer. I'd strongly recommend that you hunt it down. Very worthwhile! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

the reason that ashley young was on the pitch was that you are only allowed three subs, and (i) wellbeck was completely ineffective and carroll probably should have started - easy to say in restrospect; (ii) milner was utterly ineffective and was the worst player on the pitch except possibly for ballotelli; and (iii) parker was too tired to move.
our centre backs were really good, but they were also very lucky that ballotelli was the worst player on the pitch.0 -

no tax implication for the payne blog, as no income is received by the individual who writes the blog. money is donated directly to charity, the person donating receives nothing in return for the donation therefore there is no argument that anyone is trading. (no different to running the marathon and getting someone to sponsor you).
being paid by an 'employer' to write a blog is different as you are providing a service in return for remuneration.0 -

No, but I'm off to see it in person tonightNo sign of £5 tickets, so have stretched to £12. Should have chosen something else though if I could have watched it for free from the comfort of home!
