I have an old one of that make of car (as in the end of the old type of numberplate). I've driven it from new, it still works, rarely breaks, so I don't see any reason to replace it. The worst bit is it has a cassette player. If there's no decent radio station, I have to revert to either a talking book from the library or my 1980s mix tape.

If you've got an mp3 player, you can play it through the casette. I got one of these and it lasted years.

Download Selected Shorts, The Moth and other story series and the bbc comedy shows via itunes , and bob's your uncle. :D

    Also get onto librivox.

My dad's unreliable audi has really put me off them. Not only could you se a clock by the time it was in at the garage on monday mornings but the after setvice was imo not obsequious enough considering how bloody unrelable it was.

That said, i would not buy another of what we have.

We use Fords as taxis, so I can't vouch for the reliability of them, however one company has 12 of them (plus 3 VW minibuses on a 15 car fleet), our arch competition have about 50 of them (on an 80 car fleet, 50-ish% of their drivers run their own cars, and when 24x7 took over the airport, they put in an order of about 150.

I think that says it all about the modern stuff!

I used to have a CD player that would convert things to tape.....I think we left it at Spencer Close when we rented it out :)

I refer you to the short term rule that there is a thread for that stuff and this one is about chewmyleg offs relationship and why he won't marry the poor girl.

Chewy, we can convert this into a meetup if you like, the nice women can hound you for her. Would she come to a meet up? Hmm, does she know about 'us'?

Incidentally, how many peoples families do know about your online lives? The other day my father asked me how i knew someone and i said, well, i 'll tell you later...still haven't. He would think it was all very dodgy and flakey.

I'm very bored at the moment. This weather is terrible, & that really restricts what a person can & can't do.

It is slowing down all my growing things at home - so much so, that I haven't planted anything outside yet.:(

I finished reading my napoleon/wellington book, so have started reading the school of life set of self help books. Decided to start with "How to change the World" (why not aim small to begin with?:D)

Dropped a bit of a clanger a few weeks ago, & am still having to live with/deal with the situation. Actually, more a case of someone else dropped me a clanger...

Want the weather to improve, to improve other things...

PS on reading up on the past 4-5 pages (michaels met viva, everyone trying to bully chewie ;)) I am 100% positive that I have never met anyone from here, or indeed from the internet.
