Sorry got distracted by Gok cooking and start of Secret Millionaire :o

We were travelling from the land of the Bard down to the New Forest and stopped off at Stonehenge. We were foolish but not quite bad enough to drive right past without noticing. I was driving and mum navigating. This turns out not to be one of her stronger points. It turned out that we has missed a crucial turn off (prob the one into the a303) as there was a sign at the exit off the roundabout but no warning as you approached it (if that makes any sense at all).

My parent's van cost 8k, there are no rules about how often it has to be changed and their yearly fees including insurance, water etc is £2400 ish. They don't need to pay council tax as the site is not open year round.
Those are very "doable" figures. Round these parts, most agreements are for 10 or 15 years, or 12. I found one site (parkdean) that actually based the length of the original lease on the width of the van. 10' were 10 years; 12' were 12 years.

That's the trouble with high house price areas, it's not just houses, it's everything.... and down here we've some of the highest house prices, some of the lowest wages and the highest ratio of wages/house prices in the country .... so all those caravans are high-priced accordingly.

Cornwall was in April, we went to New Forest and Isle of Wight via Stonehenge towards end of May. Only for a few days on both occasions, but I'm finding there are distinct advantages to not having one of those job things :)

We think Gok's food looks yummy, and have really enjoyed it. A good numbers of mushrooms too
