Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull and overcast here this morning, temperature dropped dramatically too. DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was chicken goujons, jacket potatoes and salad for the menfolk, jacket potato, salad and red pepper tart for me, I bit the bullet and made the roast pepper, pesto and mozzarella tart - was delish but a little oily, think next time I'll need to dry roast or use spray oil to pre-cook the peppers - the puff pastry was a little soggy, the only other thing I can think of is to partly pre-cook the pastry before adding the rest of the ingredients - any suggestions? Dinner tonight will be fish, chips and beans/veg, I'll be having fish, jacket and veg.
Work yesterday was much busier than I expected, especially in the morning, I think people are trying to get their jobs done in the morning before it gets too hot then they don't have to rush about in the heat of the afternoon! Seems with the drop in temperature that's not going to be a problem today!
I have put a load out on the washing line already - hoping it dries - have now got back in the habit of hanging it out before I go to work.
Remember the sunscreen if you're going to be out in the sun x
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

You Can Remove Tar From Clothing
The most important thing to remember if you get tar on your clothing is to make sure it is not exposed to heat – such as a dryer or iron.
When you get tar on your clothing, freezing the tar is one of the best methods you can use to remove it.
•Place ice cubes into a plastic bag. The amount of ice you place in the bag should match the size of your tar stain. For small stains you can use a sandwich bag. For large stains you can use a freezer bag.
•Lay the stained clothing on a flat surface.
•Place the bag of ice onto the tar stain. This will freeze the tar and make it harden.
•When the tar is completely hard, peel it off of your clothing.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

HH - hope the news isn't as bad as you fear xo
Hilstep - do look after yourself today, glad someone came to your rescue xo
Hugs and kisses to anyone else who needs them (haven't read over the last week or so)
Nice and sunny again here - had about 10 days of wall to wall sunshine now - marvellous! Got loads of washing to do, need to cover up the spuds that are finally sprouting and sow some herbs.
Tea might be fajitas - got all the ingredients bar chicken, so won't have to spend much today.
Have a lovely day, even if you have to work!

Hester - keeping everything crossed, and hope ankle continues to heal.
Hilstep - I think cossetting is extremely necessary. I hope that you are okay. A fall seems to shake you so much more than the actual physical effects.
Yesterday started the flylady. Hours later I still didn't finish the first fifteen minute task, and I broke my dustpan and brush. I had stuff piled on the kitchen floor and needed to make room to put it away properly, which meant cleaning out cupboards to make room, which led to four bin bags and still a dirty floor. I hope I do better today.
I am scratching round for the last bits of washing as today is likely to be the last drying day for a few days.
Probably stir fry tonight if the turkey steaks with a use by date of 1 June still look fit. Otherwise veggie grills. China chilo tomorrow - I can't do it tonight as it really needs a long simmer on the stove and I am out between school run and OH getting home as little bear has martial arts.

I got DS's duvet washed yesterday-kingsize so won't fit in my machine although it has a big drum. Took it to the launderette £6.00 for a big washer eek!
Spent two hours collecting for the foodbank outside A**a yesterday afternoon. Most people were very generous.......some were rude.
Foodbank meeting today and will scout around for washing to do in a mo. It's probably the last hot day here. Need to sort winter clothes back into their vaccuum bags today.
Tea is mmmmmm pasta or chicken. I made babimbap yesterday as OH has been nagging, made with Korean paste that DD sent from Japan as we enjoyed it over there. Don't think I have quite the knack with the raw egg at the end though but DH hoovered his up!
OH well up and at em!
Have a good day all.

Good morning HH and all,
Hilstep sorry to hear of your fall. Take it easy today and I hope your wounds heal quickly and your not in too much pain.
Grey and overcast here in the West Midlands. I think we have got a chance of showers too.
I'm having the new fireplace and gas fire fitted today. The living room looks like a bomb site as the carpet has been rolled back and furniture moved to the other side of the room. The gas fire is stuck in the middle of the kitchen floor so ive shut myself upstairs so i dont have to look at it.
Hubbys accountant has just dropped some paperwork in, looks like he will have a decent tax rebate this year which he says is going to pay towards his loan.
Need to go to the chemist today to pick up a prescription and back to the post office.
Son has gone out for the day. Revision class at 10.00 then out with his friends on their longboards after.
