More wedding stuff!

  • Hi. Just joined today so hope this works.

I am getting married next September and am in a planning frenzy already. Ours will be a fairly small wedding (about 30) but we get a deal with our venue for a fixed fee for the evening do including dj and BBQ or buffet for up to 200 people.

I am a bit concerned about people getting bored during the photography (can anyone recommend a good, cheap photographer in West Yorkshire???) so have ordered some wedding quiz favours from ebay (currently waiting for them to arrive but they include general wedding trivia, our wedding specific trivia ie how many couples attending met on a blind date).

Have surfed the net endlessly looking for good wedding reception games to take us from the eating through to the evening "do" and have only found one decent game. Basically 2 remotes are wrapped in a whole roll of toilet paper and the bride and groom (assisted by their attandants) race to see who unwraps the remote first. The winner has control of the remote for the 1st year of marriage.

Can anyone recommend any other good games to play????

    thanks

It's a busy busy day! I think people might prefer the chance of some quiet time between the meal and the evening do, rather than non-stop games.

At my previous wedding, we had a break between afternoon and evening receptions. There was a park next door which some went and sat in, some went for a walk, some went for a lie down(!), some were happy just sitting in one of the bars, some went shopping(!), some popped home. They were all happy just making their own entertainment.

It was a baking hot day and I had a boned bodice meringue dress on, so I managed to have a cold shower without removing my veil which was held in with 67 million hair grips, then got freshened up for the evening do.
Here I go again on my own....
