. You've made your point, repeatedly. How about letting us enjoy the new pup news in peace now?
As said, it was meant as a joke & that's how it was takenAlways try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
paradigm has any of your dogs had a c section? Kizzy is doing well but I'm concerned about the lack of pain releif. She's coping but when the pups are feeding you can see she's in pain and wants to curl up. I spoke to the vet yesterday and all she really said is 'normally if she was neutered she would of had pain medication but as she's feeding puppies there's not alot she can take' Now I'm not moaning about my vets as I go to the best vet around here but I'm a bit dissappointed with some of the things this vet says. 'there's not a lot she can take' indicates to me that there is some things that can be taken, so why hasn't she been given anything?
On a good note, pups are doing great. Not so sure about me lol. They sat tiredness kills, its really killing me ;-) Half of the pups always manage to get over to the otherside of the whelping pen while kizzy is feeding the other half, she starts to panic because they're crying but she doesn't want to get up, so she crys too and I have to get up to retrieve them. This happens around 2-3times a night. I'm not moaning though (well I am) but I knew what I was letting myself in for before I bred her.0 -
My b*tch recently had a c-section and she was given a low dosage of anti-biotics for the first five days. After that she didn't have any other pain relief due to feeding her puppy. We were fortunate in that she's been fine since. Is there another vet at that practice you can see for a second opinion? Hope all the pups are doing well.Nice to save.0

Only two C sections, one years ago & one 5 ish years ago. With the first I'm pretty sure there was no pain relief but there was with the second... can't remember what it was though. "T" something rings a bell but could be wrong.
The choices are pretty limited due to passing it to the pups, Metacam is a definate no-no. I found that the discomfort mostly disappeared within a day or so but if you're concerned pester the vetBECKIN1507 wrote: »On a good note, pups are doing great. Not so sure about me lol. Tell me about itMe & the OH used to book 2 weeks off when ours were due & we did it in shifts.... the dogs were never left on their own for a minute.
It's bloody hard work but so rewarding.
These are 2 from the last litter..... we kept the one on the right.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -

Ahhhhh they're adorable! Are they dogue de bordeaux's?
Kizzy is on antibiotics for 2weeks, she's got to be checked tomo and again in 5days. The vet said something about it been cut further back than usual because the pup was so stuck, I'm presuming she meant its bigger than normal, I was very tired and worried and didn't ask as many questions as usual. I'll ask tomo if she's still in pain, she is a big baby bless her. I'll put some more pics on tomorrow.0 -
She looks like a kong toy in the first one.Just because it says so in the Mail, doesn't make it true.
I've got ADHD. You can ask me about it but I may not remember to answer...0 -

Don't forget that the body takes some time (24 hrs +) to rid itself of the anaesthetic. Your girl will feel very confused during this time & be feeling very sorry for herself.
One tip that you might (or not) want to take on board.... get yourself some baby feeding bottles & some good quality puppy replacement milk formula as a top up, 9 pups is quite a task for your girl to feed on her own! When the pups are hungry feed a couple yourself to try & reduce the load on her. You can also target the pups who seem to be always pushed out of the way when it's feeding time.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Here's the pups a week old yesterday! Kizzy and the pups are doing great, only problem now is she is been so overprotective, she's normally such a lovely girl who love everyone, it's strange to see her been nasty.0
