That is great news. Will you leave your school at Christmas?Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
I've just read your diary and I wanted to say that you mustn't feel bad about stopping BF your little one. You've done fantastically well to get to a year, every mum/baby is different and any BF is amazing, even if it's just a few days. You're very lucky, I had three babies and although I was desperate to BF, I didn't get past three months with any of them. Does that make me a bad mum? no! (though I often felt it at the time!!)
Good luck with your house move, we live in city by the sea, but it's not beachy. My dream is a little cottage by the sea, just me and DH and the cats once the kids have flown the nest. Maybe one day.

I'm really chuffed I found this thread. I was an avid follower of your diary but when it ended last Spring I thought that was that. Then I discovered that you'd come back a few months later. Just had a catch up off all the posts. Glad to see you back!0

Hi all, and spamtastic - can't belive you actually read my posts - whole lot of waffle! Sorry for delay in posting - kids have had croup including a dash to AandE. I love the NHS - both are now on the mend.
Anyway things are about to get a bit more exciting now -plans have changed slightly. We are still planning on buying our dream house by the sea, but due to pressure from our buyer and the seller in Scotland, they'd like us to be out of here by the end of October, and buy in Scotland early November. That's ermm 11 days!!
So I have a new plan A. Tomorrow I will hand in my notice at School, to finish in December, and I am going to request parental leave from mid November until the end of term. I have to give 21 days notice, and if this is granted it could mean we are all installed in Scotland by mid November. The time between selling our house and me moving up to the new house, oh will take the children up to grandparents. I will have to stay down here to work, and to save a bit of cash I will free camp (used to do this in winter when I was a student - sure i'll manage) and stay with friends where I can.
If I am not granted parental leave, its plan B. I will ask my union to challenge it, whilst I buy a fairly nice caravan off ebay, and pay a local farmer friend to let us put it there. I will stay in the caravan, with the children where temperatures allow, until December, when I will put the caravan on ebay again!
I am just doing the sums now, but it looks as if I will have a new mortgage of £185,000 and no income. For some reason I find this really exciting and a challenge - I can't wait!! I know I am a bit odd and its probably just adrenaline or something!!15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j
