If my nan wants to be the guarantor to my loan then so be it because it was being paid anyway.
Hopefully without coming across as being rude, but you need to understand (should have understood) exactly what it means to be a guarantor. You could never guarantee 100% that you would always be able to pay the loan - you could have been too ill to work, injured badly in accident or lost your job (which is in fact what happened)!! Once you couldn't afford to pay the loan then your nan was committed to taking over the payments. Its a pity you didn't think of that at the time.

Yeah but i know all this about whos fault it is.. im not asking that am i?
im asking for help not what i could of done 3 years ago. bit late....
and if you wouldnt ask you 82 year old nan to be a guarantor then wahey for you.
The FACT IS that the loan ORIGINALLY should of been in MY name and I would OF PAID it off in MY NAME just as anyone else would.
Its got nothing to do with how much money i get and how much you dont like the fact i asked my nan.

SIMPLE AS only comment if you got ADVICE and NOT CRITICISM

    1) ive been called a liar
    2) ive been called a piggy
    3) ive been called a horrible person because i asked my nan to be a guarantor when quite frankly its nothing to do with anyone. (i only asked for advice on what to do) not what i could of done
    4) why are you even commenting if you do not have anything helpful to say except make me feel ten times worse
    thanks a bunch you succeeded

Where does it say i was the guarantor and that i couldnt carry on paying?

The fact is that there was no guarantor and they made my nan the main applicant. and i did NOT stop paying only the past few months since they have been stealing my payments. I have had 3 postal orders of £187 that never made it from CRS to Barclays.... Their excuse is because we have thousands of postal orders to go through we cant get it all right. they are mugging us off and you lot just make me feel just like they do.

next time i'll goto money saving novice..... maybe they will help... not like the experts here who mug you off worse than the debt collectors

    Not a pleasant comment.

The OP is in trouble and has obviously been ripped off: be thankful that you are not vulnerable to this kind of abuse and either help or keep silent.

This doesn't really make any difference to the repayment of the loan. Even if it had been in your name, at the point you could no longer pay, then your nan would still have become responsible for the repayments. You either don't understand or you simply refuse to accept it.

What are you expecting to hear? That because the Ford dealer messed up the paperwork that your nan shouldn't have to pay anything else?

You're missing the point. Your nan was going to be liable for the payments at the point you stopped paying Barclays whether she was the main applicant or the guarantor.

I don't understand who you are blaming here? Who are CRS? Did Barclays pass the debt onto them?

The problem is you are not very clear in your information and you clearly don't understand all the details yourself. Its difficult to help someone who takes any advice as abuse because they are not hearing the answers they want.

It makes sense that you did not read every post. I have been paying the money i dont see where your coming from quite frankly and if she was meant to be the guarantor but not the guarantor then what i say makes sense, your not thinking right. If i signed a loan to be in my name then it should be in my name and i wouldnt have to pay CRS because the payments wouldnt be bloody behind would they? THINK PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE

Now I am confused, are you saying the payments are up to date?
