Have you go the car fixed? can you sell it to repay the loan?

Also, I know this is not going to win any friends, but it's a lesson in why you shouldn't ever buy anything if you can't get the loan in your own name. Asking your 80 year old nan to backup a loan you can't afford was just plain stupid. I bought a £3000 ford focus 5 years ago and am still happily driving it 300 miles every week with hardly any problems.
    Bank Loans: [STRIKE]£25000[/STRIKE] £0- Barclay Card 14%: [STRIKE]£2500[/STRIKE] £0- Student Loan: [STRIKE]£12,500[/STRIKE] £0

You must get advice SEPARATELY (get someone else to help your nan if possible) so the 2 problems don't get muddled.
Your nan needs to talk to a local agency such as CAB, Law Centre, possibly Age Concern.
You need to get some consumer advice, although I too am confused by your post.

I doubt we'll ever know but I'm dying to know what happened to the banger...sounds like a right pig in a poke to me.

First of all some of you are so rude. I will not be replying to your comments as I came here for help not to be ridiculed.

Anyway To all the people that didn't read it properly I have been paying the loan off until the past few months so people need to get they're facts right before slagging me off.
My nan was supposed to be the guarantor and I have been paying it for the 2 years. The reason we stopped paying is because CRS have been losing our payments etc. we don't know what to do.
They just made us pay another £178 out of our £400 a month carers allowance. and demanding £178 per month plus extras
My nan cannot go to court as she is in full time care, and she was the guarantor because we wasn't going to stop paying it. The fact is the loan should be in my name and i have no way to prove it

    Emma,

Get yourself an appointment with citizens advice and see what they can do to help you negotiate both on the loan and whether you have been misled/ defrauded about the car.

Under the data protection act, you are also entitled to make a subject access request asking for all the documents and information a company has about you or your nan. I would suggest one against barclays and one against hartwell ford to try and track down whether it is a simple mistake on paperwork or some kind of fraud against you.

In the meantime I suggest you contact Barlays or CRS and tell them that you cannot afford the amount requested. That their harrassment of your 82 year old nan is causing her health issues and that all future correspondence should be in writing or you will contact the police and report them for harrassment.

    Good luck.

Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Thanks Rafter thats some good advice. You know what ive just made an appointment with CAB. and also emailed Hartwell Ford requesting all documents and meeting agendas whatever they are called I told them it is my right to have these.
When we ring barclays they says we can only go through crs even though we offered them a £90 a month payment. CRS wont accept less than the amount I said in the last post. The guy on the phone is really unprofessional but he makes me feel threatened and scared. I will take that advice and warn them to put everything in writing.

    Thank you again

I don't think that the replies are particularly rude, and the advice given is intelligent and practical. You do face a serious problem, and you have been given sensible pointers about how to solve it.

I know what you mean and i have taken some of the pointers down but they all said things thats i have not even said.... if i didnt pay the car for 2 years i would of said so in my OP
If my nan wants to be the guarantor to my loan then so be it because it was being paid anyway.

This is why i got upset and feel they was getting at me.. but all the real advice i have taken in,,,
    Thanks voyager

EDIT: plus i forgot to mention what happened with the car. basically someone online offered me to swap the car for a cheaper car. because i couldnt afford to get the citroen fixed. anyway that car got written off. so there is no car

I just think its morally wrong to get your 82 yr old nan to be your guarantor.

Even if she was willing to, its just WRONG to even ask!!!
