I find it really hard to make friends that relate, im 20 at university but im in private accomodation with a long term partner and dislike clubs/alcohol/partying.
iv resigned myself to accepting i probably wont get many friends!

Maybe take up some of the tips on here? i'm going to just make lots of cyber friends :D

Technically i have loads of 'cyber-friends' as i play online games xD theres no shortage of people to talk to (or kill!)
However i think that attributes to me also not having very many real life friends.

    Girl+games+no partying+LTR= quite unusual at 20

I am going through a similar thing to you, and started this thread which I have been updating with my progress. Some ideas on there may help?

I agree that cyber friends isn't the same as "real-life" friends. I know a few people from online, and have some old and very close real-life friends, but they all live really far away. I really want to be able to make friends with people local to me, where you can ring each other up seeing if you fancy meeting for a coffee or having dinner, that sort of thing.

I find speaking to people and taking it beyond that initial chitchat stage really difficult, and it's also hard to go to classes or the meetup website events because all these things cost money, which I don't have much of haha. I'm sure others have the same problem?

We've had afair few people saying they're wanting to make new friends lately. Might it be an idea to start a "meeting people" thread where anyone who wants to meet people can post where they are and chat for instance, and arrange to meet up if they want? Of course taking the obvious safety precautions!
