    update on situation:

i told my mum & dad what was happening & they have agreed to pay my arrears. i am totally amazed as i dont get on with my parents at all, but i am obviously very grateful.

also, my contract i was supposed to be starting fell through, so applied for income support to tide me over while i look for another one. had my appt at the jobcentre yesterday & wheels are in motion for that. at least i won't have to worry about getting even more into debt with my rent for the time being.

also phoned the cccs about dealing with my other debts. i have finally taken my head out of the sand and am trying to sort my life out.

  • Well done on starting the ball rolling.

Does this mean you won't be evicted now?

i hope so! mum went to see my housing officer yesterday, but dont know what happened yet. i think the problem they have is that i have been in & out of arrears for several years due to my own stupidity & they obviously want to make sure they get their rent every week. as i have applied for income support, i will get hb so hopefully that will help

Hiya hun, i'm glad you got the rent situation sorted, hopefully they will give you another chance but please if they do dont mess up, i know myself how hard it is to get caught up with rent arrears and it's just not worth it, and the next time they WILL evict you.
Just think of it now as a clean slate and hopefully you'll be ok.
I think tbh you should stay on IS for a bit, just until you get yourself all sorted, dont rush back into things as this is what i done and it all went pear shaped!
Just give yourself a bit of time to get things sorted with HB and everything then se what happens from there.
    Good luck x

thanks antonsmummy. i am determined not to mess this up again. i agree that the best thing is to stay on is for a while- not really what i want to do as i prefer to work, but it will give me time to sort things out. when i went to the jobcentre, even the lady that dealt with my claim asked me why on earth i'm looking for a job when i'm pregnant! she then went on to say that i have to come in for review every 6 months, and my first review will be in september- i will be 8 months pregnant by then so i highly doubt they will get on my back about finding a job!!

I know how you feel about the working situation but sometimes life is like that, i started work last year befor was ready, got in a right mess with bills rent ctax etc, nearly cracked up.
I ended up taking my son out of his nursery coz it was crap so couldnt work for a few months and tbh even though i was a bit skinter it done me the world of good, i've now gone back, got all my bills sorted (although i'm paying more than i should be because i didnt pay before) but i feel so much better about myself now, and i have found an excellent nursery for DS.
So just relax, get things sorted and plan for this new baby, and enjoy! xx

Oh BTW have you had a look on the Moneysaving old style board, i have found it great especially when i was on IS as it has enabled me to do a weeks shopping for £20! Get my house in order, so it dont look like the local tip and have learned loads of nice helathy recepies.

Have you seen the fly lady thread, a great way to sort out you tip! seriously, it's great, have a look.
Basically moggins puts a list of things to do everyday and then you just follow it, it focuses on one room per day and is easy to get the hang of x
