I am a stay at home mum with a two year old. When she goes to bed i feel it is my time and pour a glass of wine when i am making dinner.

I would think you're doing the exactly the same as Mums (parents?) up and down the country! I'm a SAHM to 4-year-old twins and a 2-year-old girl too, so I'll raise my glass to you later (about 7.30 pm) ...0

Yep same here.Cath x

C'mon guys, a glass??!! More like a bottle for me!!! I'm not a SAHM (work p/t) but I still do this on occasions, more so at the weekends, but if I fancy it during the week, then I still do.
It's just nice to chill out, & not here the word 'mummy' for a few hours sometimes!I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -

I would say having a glass of something of an evening after a hard day looking after the kids is normal
looking after a 2 yr old is hard work !0 -
It's perfectly normal......as the children get older though you might find the time at which the wine starts gets earlier!!!
I'll now have a glass whilst I cook dinner and find most of my friends do too!MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

God Yes! Well, usually anyway. My husband is away at the mo so I've been refraining so that I'm on the best form I can be in the mornings (I am so not a morning person).
My daughter will be two next month and it's a constant battle right now. If I don't watch her constantly, she's into everything and there are spillages/breakages/chocolate wall murals. If I do watch her, the housework gets neglected and there's more chance of a mini-disaster as there's more stuff lying wround for her to damage :wall:

Def yes...we can all think of each other 2 night ...what time is it??!!

Teetotal - and so my 'me time' is a coffee and a good book after the kids have gone to bed - although as DD1 is that bit older - it seems to be getting later!!0

Hell, I did this before I was pregnant, and I fully intend to return to my little pleasures as soon as I can after sproglet is born!
Everyone needs even just ten minutes a day which are "all about me" - my preference was a hot bubble bath, a good book and a large glass of red, ideally with chocolates within reach ...0 -
I do this and really enjoy it, start slightly earlier on a Saturday - today we were at a kids birthday party and then came home where the kids were out playing in the garden so poured myself a drink then before I started cooking dinner - very relaxing!Joined slimming world Feb 2010
