My baby time is the time I do not have a glass /bottle of wine, because thats when I am looking after Thomas, the light of my life, our grandson , my little man . I would not feel comfortable taking a drink . On the other nights I take a glass /bottle of red because I can, I enjoy, relax and savour my food. Enjoying that I can actually afford to buy the wine in the first place. Its bliss.

Well I don't bother drinking at home, but yes I do look forward to my two going to bed (between 7-7.30) and being able to relax. DS is 14 months and I'm sure I should be keeping him on a leash as he's so busy. No matter how many toys he's got he's got to fiddle with the stereo/tv/dvd/sky box, open the kitchen cupboards, pull stuff out and generally get up to mischief, coupled with humungous tantrums which involve screaming and banging his head on the floor :o, so I'm worn out by the end of the day!! Even mil was observing today how different he is to DD (3) who was (and still is) a little angel who's no trouble!!!

And it looks like we made it once again

  • Same here - poor a glass of wine and have some 'me' time (looking at these threads!). Part of being a good Mum is making sure you look after yourself too - that is my excuse anyway!

I do it here to, my kids are slightly older but once everything is ready for the morning and kids are bathed and in pjs, out comes the wine. Not every day (although with 4 kids i am very tempted!!) but i love my sundays as soon as we are back from ds1 footy the wine gets opened and i chill whilst doing dinner. Then watch a film in afternoon with the kids and dh. Oh its sunday today!!Horray!!

Tea, bath 'n bedtime hour is often the most tense hour of the day. Add to that the getting ready of school bags for swimming, tea with a friend, gym, ballet, football etc etc and of course the obligatory homework and spellings with the eldest and storytime for both.

You need to have something to look forward to, whether its a glass of wine, good book or the TV....enjoy!!
