MSE Fashion Police club - a place for honest opinions

I'm starting this thread as a forum for honest and impartial advice on outfits that require a second opinion before investing in, considering the lasting value, versatility of the items amongst relevent other factors. My suggestion is that any useful detail about bodyshape, colouring and occasion be included in the post to get the most constructive comments, as well as the details of where the item can be found in case others might wish to buy.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Orange V Neck Jumpsuit, George (Asda), £20.00

First impressions, I think this looks stunning, would suit my shape and colouring well and would be great for summer parties.

Negatives - the vibrant colour means the outfit rocks that Guantanamo vibe and it is 100% polyester...expect sparks to fly. On balance, it's a no. Opinions?

Oh what a fab idea for a thread!

I got all excited when I saw the top half of the picture - I thought it was a cokctail dress and with the stunning shape of the top half was about to get my coat and go grab one.

I'm not brave enough for a jumpsuit though, espec in orange. I don't like to make that much of a statement! A braver person than me would look great in it (although polyester would make it a bit sweaty and uncomfortable, wouldn't it?)

If you have different groups of friends, it'd be fine. But very much the sort of thing that wouldn't be forgotten. I suppose you could change the belt for a wide black one, but there aren't a great choice of colours you could accessorise with for a change.

If you have one group of friends, I bet you wouldn't wear it more than once or twice.

I love it but I think you need to be relatively slim (with some shape), tall & young to pull it off. I agree that if it was a dress I would buy one in instant!

I love it and I think the colour is lovely you'd just have to be the right kind of person to wear it, iykwim. I would like it better if the legs weren't as wide (does that make sense :rotfl:) though.

I think it looks nice in the photo but it'll crease badly, especially in the thigh area, which wouldn't be very flattering. Plus, going to the toilet would be a nighmare! :p

Why not buy it, bring it home, try it on a few times and get a feel for it? take it back if you think it's a no no! £20 is pretty cheap for a party outfit, you could style it in a few different ways if you've got the confidence. I think it's important with jumpsuits to check out the rear view very carefully before committing!

I bought a black one a few weeks ago after seeing a couple of women looking great in them, but haven't got the figure to get away with a jumpsuit in this colour :-(

I think it looks gorgeous, but....would not buy even if it would suit me because of the polyester issue.

I love the HoF jumpsuit - esp the way the belt is cleverly designed to conceal the a*se.

Jumpsuits for some reason are extremely flattering on me, rear view included, but as Skyllo has pointed out they are not the most practical if you're caught short ;).

    It's the polyester that's a problem for me too. I can't bear synthetics so it's a no.

I look fwd to the next fashion dilemma....

Oooh, I love threads like this...

I was looking at this dress tonight but can't decide if I like it because I have pmt and my fashion sense goes out the window or if it really is nice.

I can't do pics but here is the link if anyone is able to magic the link into a picture http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_008010523460_-1?breadcrumb=Home~Women~Dresses

I am short, very curvy, big boobed and not keen on my legs so thought this would be a compromise and would involve flashing a bit of leg rather than whole legs. Any thoughts? I am erring towards this potentially being a pmt purchase that will be regretted after TOTM but very willing to be persuaded otherwise.

The other thing swaying me is that it is half price today and there is another code for £5 off so I could get it for £45
