Ok - I've taken some stuff out. Is it still too long and does it feel like it's too focused on one particular type of person still?

I'd just say as well, don't discount anyone who doesn't have the exact same interests as you. When me and my OH met we couldn't have been anymore different if we tried. Now after so long together we've learnt new things and developed new interests that we would never have otherwise given a chance.

Perhaps you could think about different usernames for different sites?

You are currently VERY stalkable....... so it could be anything putting them off - I would stalk you before the date But some people may wait until afterwards.

And I think you should ask coinx out!

Also it is *all* geek which even for geeks is a bit full on. Your reading tastes are classic "male" sf (golden era and fantasy). Sounds a bit greybeard brain. What modern authors are you reading? What *female* authors are you reading? (No Ursula?)

Film list is action oriented vs say matrix, inception which are more plot/character driven - again the blokey side of geek.

What would we do other than stay in and watch box sets? I mean, I like a box set weekender, but I don't need you to do it with, I have my own home cinema... can we maybe play board games with friends? MMORPG together? Visit the great quarries of Dr Who?

Well you could watch a box set by yourself instead but where would be the fun in that? ;-)

I get your point though - I'm actually not in on weekends very often as I prefer to be out and about. I've made a few changes to my profile that hopefully tones down the geekiness a bit and shows that I do other things.

I have a fantastic IT engineering job which I enjoy very much and I also have my own house which is filled with all kinds of geeky goodness. - This would put me off as I would wonder if I was good enough because I don't own my own house or work in an amazing high tech job.

I'm out most weekends - currently exploring interesting places in this country but am planning to explore places abroad in the not too distant future. - If I was reading this I would think if your out all weekends and busy then when would you have time for me which would put me off.
